So I bought this 2006 Regular Cab 2wd 5 speed Tacoma with only 158k miles in April 2020 as a daily driver. Her name is Betty. I purcahsed this to keep miles of my '08 Regular cab 4wd. Since buying it I have tried to clean it up, do some small yet effective mods, and try to keep this build a little more simple. This thread is mainly for me to keep track of my progress on this truck.

The day I brought it home!

First mod was the Undercover (you may recall this from my other truck)

I broke 4 out of 5 wheel studs on my way to work one day.

I purchased OEM aluminum wheels from a 201 Scion TC. They were all curb rashed and beat to hell. I sanded, cleaned, prime, and painted them and now they look nearly new. I wrapped them in some Bridgestone 255/45r18 tires. Looks good to me!

I installed 4 brand new X-Runner Bilstien shocks and matched it up with the SOS Performance 2" X-Runner lowering kit from URD. I also added Belltech universal progressive rear bump stops.

Upgraded the radio/speakers to some simple Pioneer products. Sounds great and was fairly inexpensive.

I removed basically the entire interior, cleaned and sound deadened everything! This made for great improvements!

The rear bumper was very rusty, I changed it out with a new chrome one with a Curt 2" hitch receiver.

One was already broken. The rest just failed. Same thing happened on my 08 4wd a year prior.

Wiper stalk is simply just a swap for one with the intermittent option. Cruise control is as simple as the stalk, 2 screws, a wire, and a clutch switch.
