Any idea how you remove the top switch? The bottom came out by removing fuse tray (for lack of better wording) and pushing on the back of the switch. I can't figure out how to get the top out without dismantling the dash.

    I have a 2013 trd sport.

I believe I read somewhere here that you can reach up and pop the rear view mirrow panel out first, then use that hole to reach up and push the upper switches out from behind.

Someone with more experience will likely be along shortly to confirm or refute that...

I was able to reach the bed outlet switch and pop it out first and then with that one out I could get the blank out

This is along the same lines... I have an 07 trd offroad and I went to pop out the bottom blanks and the 2 on the right have wires going to the back but not connected to anything. Anyone knows what there wires are for?

I just popped it out with a small flat head. I was trying to preserve the cover in case I wanted to put it back, but it didn't do much damage anyway. New switch in...watch out Sasquatch!

    Thanks

Just finished this exercise today and used some of the information posted to assist in completing a WinJet fog light kit installation with a backlit switch in the OEM switch position. There was no need to remove the dash panel. All blanks can be removed from the front by first using a small butter or patte (sp?) knife to wedge the bottom of the blank out approximately 2-3 mm, then inserting a flat head (4-5 mm) screwdriver under the center bottom to catch a molded recess in the blank, then prying the bottom edge out with the driver rocking on the flat edge of the butter knife (prevents leaving a detent in the panel below the blank). Use tape around the opening bottom to avoid marring panel surfaces. There are no tabs to release on an unwired blank...just small interference cams on the top and bottom of the blank.

To see what the backside of a blank (unwired) looks like, pop out the blank just above the fuse access panel by reaching behind the blank and pushing it out.

Wired blanks are used for models that have options pre-wired in the main harness, but the option was not installed at the factory.

    Hope this helps.
