i have a 2010 tacoma prerunner. the running light are always on automaticly, which i like. however the issue is i just installed a set of spyder projectors off ebay and they work fine also. the issue i have is my blinker/running light connector only has 2 wires instead of 3, i tested the wires and have constant 14v when running light are on and it bounces up and down when blinker is on (same two wires). so how can i wire the led running lights on my new headlights to only blink with the blinker and thats it. ive seen other 2nd gen tacomas that have 3 wires. one groundone running and one blinker. but i only have two, one ground and one blinker/running. thanks

the factory running lights use only 2 wires. if you see someone with 3, it is not factory installed.

you can use the 2 lines going to the rear signal lights.

on the 2010, it will be the light blue-black wire for left signal, light blue-yellow wire for the right signal on either connect 1B or 1D. that will be the top right or top left white connector on the fuse panel in this picture. use t-tap and run wires through firewall

There are both 2 and 3 wired factory DTRLs. (There is a link about it.) I think the deviation started in 2009/2010. I ended up deleting my DTRLs altogether when I installed my Halo/Projector lights. I have the two wire blinkers and running lights. Now all L.E.D.

it is 2 wires for up to 2011 (that is why the dtrl mod explicitly states it works for 2005-2011 only), and OP has 2010. But you are right, I should have qualified what I said to it is 2 wires up to 2011 and since OP has 2010, it is 2 wires. (and op stated his is two wires)

I have come up with a mod to convert factory 2 wire dtrl to a 3 wire dtrl as described here
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/technical-chat/84105-dtrl-toggle-switch.html#post8349900

OP has the option to do this mod, and the signal pin will just be signal and not stay on while signals are off. But I think my original suggestion to just connect it to the tail signal wires instead would be simpler.
