Did the old "swap wheels/tires in a Panera parking lot" with my brother. He was running my 255s and spacers and I sent his bald, stock tires/wheels with the totalled truck. Now, he has my brand new set and I have my 255s back. Confused?

I had the pleasure of doing all the work while he was on a call for work. Yay me.

Faux pro grille and raptor lights tonight. Totally transforms the look of the truck.

    This weekend:
    - suspension
    - wash the damn thing
    - pressure wash all armor, still got a lot of mud caked on
    - IFS skid
    - sliders
    - bolt winch to front bumper and plan solenoid location
    - schedule exhaust re-route
    - strap spare on bed cage

I might get it all done, maybe. Probably not.

You bought a winch then? Which one?

Before I installed mine I took apart my X20 and replaced the grease, and I also added some RTV to certain areas of the solenoid. You may consider doing that before you install it.

Where are you thinking about moving the solenoid to? Here's a helpful calc as you size wires: https://www.calculator.net/voltage-drop-calculator.html The battery leads that came with my winch were only about 3 awg and are really too small for the current draw. See what slcsez2000 did here for some info on the RTV, Grease, and relocation: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/smittybilt-gen2-xrc-and-x20-winches.325833/page-5#post-9211117

Awesome info dude! Thanks for the links. I got the X2O as well. I totally agree about upgrading the wiring. I want to put the solenoid behind the airbox, which would require a decently long run for control and power cables.

I'll read up and probably do this before installation. I was just going to bolt the winch to the bumper this weekend and not worry about wiring or spooling until next week sometime.

Did you replace wires or keep solenoid on the winch body?

My bumper tucks the winch way up under the grill supports and there is no way the solenoid will fit. Plus, I kinda want it in a more protected area since it seems to be the weak link on these winches (the wireless switch anyway)

I kept mine on the winch body. With the factory cables I could have positioned it behind the grill, but I think that's more exposed than in the bumper cavity. I definitely would like to relocate it a little higher up, but didn't want to spend the $ on new cables yet. Given that a 10k load draws 380 amps I'll probably run 1/0 cables to try to keep the voltage drop to about 3%. 2/0 would be better but that's definitely a big cable.

Bed cage is in, minus one of the rear bolts which is juuuuuust too short to catch the threads. On the way to Lowe's to find a longer one.

I also washed the sliders and skids and need to touch up paint and install this afternoon

Ok, armor is on. I genuinely forgot how much of a pain in the nuts the sliders were to install.

No suspension, though it needs it. I'm rubbing like a boss if I even think about turning the wheel.

I'm not going to trim until I get the suspension on and the front bumper on and an alignment.

Going to head to the garage and fab up some brackets for the recovery boards

Skids are all yours. I'll bring them to the next whatever.

Suspension will stay with me, why would you need it anyway? If you want to borrow it to have your shocks rebuilt that's cool, left me know!

Question for you. Any issues with the adaptive cruise radar with the knockoff Pro grille? Any tips there?

    @Warhawk

I've not experienced any issues. I have run the knock-off grille on two trucks now with an OEM garnish and with an aftermarket garnish. Radar cruise has always worked (though I HATE it and use normal cruise) and precollision warning has always worked.

On my previous truck, I lifted approx 2.5" which locates the sensor in the pro grille in approx the same location as the sensor would be in a stock height truck and with the stock grille.

Of course, I've read reports of the sensors not working, or having errors so YMMV, but it has worked for me.

    New Poll up.

I need some inspiration. "Bloob" seems to speak to the childish nature of some involved in this thread, but I'm open to other options
