Yep, that’s it. Here’s the part numbers for the connector housing and pigtail.

So im guessing you just cut the burnt part of the wire and splice in the new pigtail?

My 2011 Tacoma just got the same problem. I remember a strange smell, but did not notice the high speed fan not working. I checked the Heater Relay and Fuse. Both were OK. To no ones' surprise, my switch looks exactly like yours. Are the part names as Muddinfun described them or does Toyota use different names. Where I live in Hawaii, we only have the dealership, Napa, and Autozone...No salvage yards at all. Also, any suggestions for used parts online?

    Best regards,
    Brendan

Welcome to TW. Order the parts shown in post #21 above, from the Toyota dealer and buy a used climate control off ebay. Make sure you get the correct year range. Somewhere in the middle on the 2nd gen run, they changed things. I don’t know what year they changed. If you get it wrong, the temp control will be backwards. After you get all the parts, transfer the unburned terminals to the new housing. Then cut off the burned terminal and solder on the new pigtail.

Sooo.... I know what to do to fix the high setting. But the AC unit doesn't work at all now. I wiggled the wires around on the bottom where the sensor plugs in and it turns on but when I turn the AC off again, it doesn't turn back on. I tightened all the bolts under the dash, same problem. I pull out that plug just a tad and it turns back on. Somehow the plug isn't inserting correctly? Any advice would be greatly appreciated
