The one I used was the kind you brushed on. I picked it up at Autozone, came with spray brake cleaner and the paint.

Yeah the glossiness wears off after a year or so. Depending on your luck with road debris there may not be any chips, I just drove my last car for work and logged 20 to 25,000 miles a year so I had a lot of time on the road.

Just like anything in life, if you deserve shit, you will get it. Even if you don't, you will probably get it anyway.

Nawww. The painted calipers on the Tacos look cool.

I'm thinking of painting the calipers red on my black taco. They look sweet in my opinion.

I used the G2 kit on a 1998 accord. It lasted for ~3 years and then I sold the vehicle. If applied correctly, it's awesome! Just don't mix it in a plastic cup. It will eat right through the cup, don't ask how I know...

No, it was sitting on a piece of wood on the garage floor and I was able to reclaim about 80% of it. Also, back in the 2000 timeframe (9 years ago) I didn't know about duplicolor, nor can I provide any info on how well it works. I just know that the G2 kit works very well and it stays glossy (like a new brembo caliper I had on my G35c) for ~3 years minimum. Maybe that's a good point of reference for the OP.
    PEACE.

I used the Duplicolor kit on mine...worked good for about 2 weeks..now its all flaking off and looks like crap. Idk why. Maybe from snow and road salt. Almost as it it didnt stick. in some areas. I guess I can try repainting it in the spring.

Most likely you didn't get them prepped well enough. I did mine a year or so ago with the Duplicolor and they still look fine (red calipers/black drums/ black truck); I haven't taken the truck through much mud though. You have to scrub the hell out of the calipers, clean/degrease, scrub some more then clean/degrease again. I used a heat gun to warm mine up before painting too to make sure there was no moisture on them. After I painted them I let them sit for several hours before putting the wheels back on.

Hmm. I Will have to try heating them. And redoing them in a nice heated gararge. That my be my problem. I was kind of mad about it. Any advice for repainting them...with the existing paint on them?
