yeah man i like it, you're right it is loud on the highway, but with my tires and everything else it just blends in with the rest of the wind noises lol... around town though its great, i think it sounds best around 2000 to 2500 rpms

So just to show the weight carrying capabilities of the dakars..

In the bed i have my hi-lift, all pro leaf springs, recovery bag, and as you can see, a lot of fall plants and decorations for my house. Overall, I would say at least 250lbs of cargo, plus the good amount of added weight of my cap. And i still have a slight rake. Very happy with these so far

So I went to a Toyota dealership to pick up some UCA bolts today. When i walked out, a bunch of salesman are looking at my truck and one guy sticks around and starts talking to me. He said he just got a TRD Pro Tacoma in an hour earlier, and wants to compare some of the stuff from both of the trucks. He pulls it around and man, all i can say is that no matter what ppl say about price and mods on the truck, this thing is beautiful. It was the burnt orange color and literally untouched. After BSing and talking he asks me to take it for a spin, which obviously i did, and it was a real nice drive. Apparently, i was the first person in NJ to drive around a TRD Pro Tacoma so it was overall a pretty cool experience. Then like a typical dealer, he tried selling it to me so i got outta there haha. Like i said though, it was a cool experience and pretty cool to actually be able to drive it around for a little bit.

Got a bunch of updates on the build!! First is a pic that i took the other day next to a TRD Pro at the dealership

Now for the good stuff... I FINALLY got around to installing my blue sea fuse box and circuit breaker. I made my own mount from some supplies i bought at home depot. Pretty sturdy, we'll see if it lasts. 1101141258_zps77igqq5w_0ecf4536d9c0e64d119717a2b495a2015e67d74d.jpg

I used a dremel to cut out the spot for the circuit breaker so it sits flush

The final product all wired up. I used techflex to cover the wires, and also heat shrink to seal the ends of it off and clean it up even more.1102141327_zpsicphfvnf_2c13057e8e5d7e62bc595ff8e6226ca561d6423b.jpg

Next is all my new lights.. I replaced the ARB fogs with a pair of 3inch LED pods. Got creative with the mounting but got them in nice and tight, they aren't going anywhere. These pods are WAY brighter then ARB fogs. Also got another pair of pods up on the windshield with some amber covers that are removable for when i want more light. Lastly, i have a 32inch LED Bar installed on my bumper. Thanks to my buddy Nick who helped me out with the install. Phil... ya came up short on this one.The Bar fits perfectly across the bumper and is bright as hell!! I ordered some amber covers for the bar too, mostly for rock protection but also to cut through fog and dust better then just the white. This is what it looks like with all the lights off.1102141407_zpsjnlbja2w_82db601507f8848f91968b5931250e9f3a05da13.jpg

Just the bar.. during the day. i have amber covers on the end in this pic.

    And with everything on....

I hooked these lights up to some new OTRATTW switches i ordered. I'm putting them in the sunglass holder, with the six switch holder. Haven't put them in their permanent spot yet but it should be done by this weekend. Overall, I'm super happy with the setup and I'm pumped for the next night run!!

Your truck looks better than the Tacoma Pro, you can tell it envies you!:D

How difficult was it to install the blue sea fuse box and circuit breaker? Were there any "how to's" you followed? This is on my list of things to do, I'm always hesitant to do electrical stuff on the truck for fear of irreparable damage. ;)

    Thanks man!! :D

Honestly, it was not that hard. The hardest part for me was actually getting all the wires prepped and crimped before hooking it all on. After that, its just connecting the blue sea to the circuit breaker, and then the breaker to the battery. Then grounding it. As far as damage goes, this really wouldn't cause anything that would damage you're truck. Its basically just a neater way to have all your wires organized. If anything, its a bit safer bc of the circuit breaker, it'll flip if you ever do draw too many amps. Im definitely happy with the setup and its a big plus to have

So the prep/crimped pieces I'm assuming you're referring to the wires coming from your various new lights. Or are there any wiring needed to be done to the fuse box coming from the looms from battery and ground?

The wires from the lights are easy, that just consists of putting the fuse into the blue sea and then connecting the wire likes.. The long part was prepping the large 4ga wires that are connecting the blue sea to the batteries. Crimping the rings required me to actually go out and buy a large crimping tool. Then after that i used the tech flex and then heat shrunk the ends. Overall setting the 4ga wires up probably took me the longest to complete.

I could probably look this up, but I'm going to ask anyway. Is all that stuff supplied when you order the fuse box? Wires/techflex/etc?

No, i bought the fuse box at a local boat shop around town. Everything else i ordered online. I used this list from another thread to buy my supplies. I didn't get the tsunami volt meter though and made a different mount from supplies i bought at home depot

    Items Needed:
    - (1) 6" x 10" (16ga) sheet of steel
    - (1) 10" piece of right angle steel
    - Blue Sea Fuse Holder
    - Blue Wave Circuit Breaker (something similar)
    - Tsunami Fuse Holder w/Voltage Meter (or something similar)
    - About 5' of 4ga wire
    - About 1' of 1/2" shrink tubing (I used red and black)
    - Gold Rings for connecting 4ga wire
    - Not needed but I also used TechFlex to cover the 4ga wire

This is the other thread too:

Sick frickin truck dude! I'm diggin it! Very nice build. I'm about to do the fuse block too. Got 2 light bars and my compressor to hook up to it. Need to clean everything up. Fuse block sure makes everything nice and organized.

Thanks man! i was actually just on your build page the other day looking at your trimmed fenders haha your truck is real nice man!.. The blue sea definitely cleans everything up and makes it easier to run all the wires. I want to get a compressor hopefully by the time it gets warmer out again

Oh cool man. Thanks! That's the greatest part about this site. Getting ideas from other cool people. There's a lot of good stuff to check out on here. Yeah dude I love my little ARB compressor. I mounted it underneath the hood in the corner closest to the steering wheel. That thing rocks!
