Hey, I got a 2011 tacoma a little bit ago and recently I noticed that when I'm talking on the phone via bluetooth, the voice only comes from the left speakers in the truck.. I've used it quite a bit already but I just recently noticed this.. So i was wondering if its like this on all trucks or if mine is just messed up??

I haven't really noticed. Of course, I only have hearing in my left ear so I guess good thing the sound comes from the left side. On a side note my hearing deficiency is nice when I am driving and my wife is in the passenger seat or when I am sleeping.

Normal I Like it on just the left side .. I think the person on the other line hears themselves more with the use of more speakers and that get annoying

i've got an '11 and mine is the same way.

on a slightly different yet related subject....

i've got an iphone and I want to transfer my contacts over to the truck so that I can use the dial by name feature. I'm bummed that my research to date has told me that this is not possible... Does anyone know if there is a way to do this???

I haven't found a way either on my '11 and this just sucks....I don't think it would cost TMS any more to include a "contact download" function on our vehicels (and at the same time keep us current with other automotive bluetooth systems). :(

I'm not familiar with the iPhone but on my Motorola Droid I have to go into each of my contacts and then select share contact via Bluetooth which will push it to the radio. A total pain as you have to do it for each phone number for that contact.

Does the iPhone offer an option to share contacts similar to the Droid? If so, it may be worth a try.

Toyota could learn a thing or two from Ford on how to do this. They make it dead simple.

The Iphone doesn't have an option of transfering anything through bluetooth, only the usage of a bluetooth headset thing..atleast that I know of. And with my experience its alot faster to just dial on your phone. As soon as I make a call it switches over to the stereo speakers right away and is much faster and easier than using the buttons on the steering wheel. Hope that helps.
