I voted 25+ based on what the health club measured me at, but using the online calculator, I'm 22.6

This has got to be the worst way to judge how healthy you are. BMI by no means is an accurate way to find out you body composition. I am 5'9 at 183lbs. I know I am currently around 8% body fat but it lists me as overweight.

BMI means nothing. Body fat % is a much more accurate means of determining what kind of shape you are in. I am 6'5" and usually weigh between 225-230lbs and every BMI scale I have been on says I am obese, but actually I am quite thin.

I can also touch and see my toes, but I'm definitely fat. I've got enough muscle mass that I don't look like the other morbidly obese folks.

I'm with you... I'm 5'11" and since starting this little kick I'm down about 10 lbs, which puts me at exactly your weight. I know I'm heavy, but I still wouldn't categorize myself as obese.

Being 5'11", in order for you and me to get into to 'overweight' category of the BMI we'd have to drop to 215lbs. I have every intention of getting there (lower, actually), but not b/c the BMI says so. I just remember what it felt like to weigh that much and I very much want to get back to it. I also like saying, "my goal is to be overweight" and watching people not know what to do with their faces as they react.

BMI pisses me off too. I am a 30.3 at 5'9" and 205 lbs, I'm not thin as I once was, but I am not obese either.

Damn desk job and eating like shit (but no worse than before the job) and I gained 45 pounds in 4 months and now I can't seem to shake it. Oh well, it'll be gone before mid summer.

And that's why I bought the GF a scale that measures fat, water and mineral density. So when she says I gained 2-3 pounds she can look at it and go, but hey, it's 2-3 pounds of muscle cause my fat percentage went down.

    Mine is at 17% fat.

Although having just eaten 4 full strips of maple smoked bacon isn't helping shit at all.

I'm 5'10" 215 and it says I'm obese and I'm pretty sure I'm not I'm pretty big and strong from playing football and am currently weightlifting 4 days a week. BMI is not very accurate and doesn't take into account peoples body types.

I'm 5'7" and 195. I work out quite a bit. But I have to loose weight because to be in regulations I have to wiegh 176. At least thats what the Corps says.

I'd look too bad at that weight. Kinda pisses me off.
