Been meaning to move my build thread here. Things are moving slow since I'm on Guam for now but they're coming together

Truck:
2008 Toyota Tacoma, 4 door, 5 ft. bed, 2wd, Prerunner



Exterior:
- Advanced Fiberglass 3 piece conversion
- Method, 17x8, 4.25 in backspace rims
- spider trax 1 in spacers rear
- 37x13.5 in Achilles Desert Hawk
- Rhino Lined stock bumper reinforcement for now

Suspension:
- DTF Long Travel Kit (Link: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/dez-toy-fab-lt-kit.370820/)
- Kings 2.5x10 Coilovers front
- Rear is still stock, haven't decided what I want to do yet
Probably 4 link, trailing arms with ORI Struts

Fabrication:
- Shock tower/over engine crossbar
- Bed cage
- Rear bumper

First step to getting the bed cage done. This will be the skeleton of the cage, what do yall think?
The frame is now boxed from the cab back as well for strength.

It is very ghetto with the tail lights lol i think i may pull the trigger on BajaDesign RTL-S bar

A few more bars will be added in, some on sides for strength and build out to mount bypasses.

 

When does the rear glass come in?

 

I dont think I'm going to have it shipped to Guam, I will be stateside in November so if I go with glass it'll be around then.

 

So unfortunately, Baja Designs wont ship to my address so I went with an Amazon chase light for $100 and I have no complaints so far. This is how the rear end is sitting now, more to come shortly.

 

Now, to beef up all the bars and everything inside this is what I think I will be doing.
Do you see anywhere I will need more bars for strength.

Hoping my weight wont be unbalanced with the fuel cell since the stock tank is already on that side?

 

Build is on the back burner as i just moved from Guam to Baltimore! Just got a house and had to furnish it so that took some of my truck money

looks like we liked the back half of the stock frame about the same amount. love the cage you built, plan on integrating some long travel shock mounts up in there?

Thanks man! Yeah ive slowed down quite a bit on it because i moved to Baltimore and having a prerunner build out here doesnt make sense/cant use it. Gives me time to do it right the first time and save for better parts though!

 

i actually was wondering about a prerunner in maryland. heres to hoping for a sandier relocation.

you would love it where im at now. but i started my sas build before i moved to san diego, and now i wish i started a prerunner instead
