Out of interest I'd like to learn the general size of the peeps working on or keeping fit.

It's a private poll so others won't know your deminsions unless you choose to note them in text.

    Height?

    I'm 5'-9" or 69".

30.74 for me, but I believe my muscle mass knocks me down into the overweight zone.

    Body fat percentage?

I'm at 13.5% +/- depending on time of day. I started using the electric pulse method to measure and previously used the measure method. I don't think either of the methods above are accurate when compared to the DEXA or pool but, at least a trend can be established (my motivation).

Poll response choices are geared for males.

A real weak spot for BMI, I'll throw in a body fat poll too...

Coming in at 25.8, so I'm barely "overweight" according to the BMI equation. Skin folds and fat free mass tells a different story, though. The index isn't that forgiving for us shorter guys.

Good idea, calculator estimates 23% BF for me, not to shabby.
    18-25% is considered average.

Yup BMI is a bullshit stat that means nothing. Mines 28 but last I checked, I was at 13% BF.

Damn...hate to look like a serial poster! I just couldn't figure out how to get more than one poll in one thread... But, whoever condenced my shit, thanks.

    Right on man...good deal.

My goal gettibg 8 to 10% is to have better definition (I'd like to have a good 6 pack). Right now all I show is vertical lines on my abs kinda from my belt up to the bottom of my ribs and slanted lines from my crotch to above my hips. Of course I could just loose weight but, hoping for some mass to go with it.

At 13.5% I'm not as defined as I want but, I'm not sure how accurate my reading is...

79 inches. Dunno BMI. Don't find it accurate for any body.

BMI is the dumbest thing. I'm 210, 5'11" and can run a sub-7 minute mile, but my BMI says I'm "obese".

6' and 245lbs.....BMI says I'm gonna die any minute. Body fat calculator says 14% with a 36" waist. I lift heavy 4 days a week but eat whatever I want.

Yup.....working tonight. The eating anything has caught up with me lately. Recently found out that my blood pressure was sky high at 44 years old. Been making some diet changes & cut back on the beer.

Bmi was junk science when it first hit paper, even more so now. Ive never been anything but obese according to it.
    o·bese
    ōˈbēs/
    adjective
    1. grossly fat or overweight.
At 3-4% body fat, 2-4 hours in the gym 4 to 5 days a week, and could bench a buick, i was "grossly fat" in my 20s and a lifetime as an athlete. Im not the gym rat i was but still in better shape than almost everyone i know and i still get to watch the nurse mark me as obese every checkup.
