    I took the flare off and used a heat gun to get them up to a little over 200 deg so the paint wouldn't chip or crack and use my hilift handle (basically a piece of 2in tube) and pryed the fender out while rolling the tube around my tire. I wish I had a fender roller to make it easier but they're hard to find with a 6 lug mount. I really need to cut the tabs off the underside of the fender so I don't get flat spots

    I used similar stuff and it rubbed off when I put the bolts in. I got zinc bolts is that what you used?

    Not zinc, these are stainless. I too have had alot of trouble getting paint to adhere to zinc/galvanised equipment especially if I don't rough the surface up first with sand paper or whatever.

    My apologies if I am misunderstanding, but if you painted the bolt and washer first I would expect the paint to get messed up during install. It's just not that durable. Maybe if you put masking tape around the inside of a socket but you'd still get a scrape ring on the washer if you'd painted that. Super clean way to do it would be to install, mask around them and then prime, paint and clear in place. Actually I'm very ocd and probably would file/sand the bolt faces smooth first. Anyway cool idea op :thumbsup:.

    No ring on mine but I was very careful as to not scrap off the paint during install. Even then I messed up on a couple of them though. Gonna cut a soda bottle in half, put that over the bolt head then rattle can fix the messed up spots. Easier then masking tape imo

    So don't attempt this if your a pusscake. If you fuck up your truck and you run over a school bus of orphans and die in a fiery inferno it's not my problem.

    Your gonna need a couple things that most gear heads have laying around

    -a heat gun
    - a way to measure tempature (thermometer, flir, your hands if your a freak of nature)
    - tin snips if you haven't trimmed your flares yet
    - a piece of tubing or a wood baseball bat which I reccomend.
    First off trim all this shit out

    These are the mounts for your fender liners. You need to come up with a new way to run fender liners or rip them out its up to you

    I then cut relief cuts into the inner lip of the fender so it rolls cleaner

    If you want to keen your paint looking fine and dandy and your in a rust prone area or whatever the case may be you want to heat up your fender with a heat gun to about 200 deg Fahrenheit

    I used sweeping motions to get it hot enough but I took a beer break inbetween heating and rolling and cracked my paint pretty good.

    This makes your paint softer and pliable so its less prone to cracking and chipping

    Now work quickly to roll the fender with whatever tool your using

    I used my high lift handle

    And begin to make passes and heat the fender as you go or heat it back up after every pass.

    I only wanted an inch to an inch and a half wider so I measured flare distance from my coilover to the inside of the fender to check how far I went.

    Now reinstall your flares and do the otherside
