What do you prefer and why?
I'm buying from a local guy, both are the same price installed. Not sure what way to go...

Bolts ons are nice just because you can take them off. But if you live in an area where you get lots of salt, you might get build up in between the plates and your frame. Weld on doesn't have that problem and is generally stronger.

I got bolt ons from @Shmellmopwho - and I really like them, they are strong and hold up to a hi-lift. He’s in Lomita near Long Beach - installations are included at his place.

    Thanks
Im on the shmello for bolt ons. Just think weldon are stronger and less to hang up on rocks. However removable is nice for several reasons, like repaint...

Bolt ons if I had to do it all over again. My weld ons got rust between the plate and the frame and tore off the frame wheeling one day, granted they were on the truck for 12years at that point. Being able to take them off to paint and repair is nice.

    Hey @Millerfish

You could always start off bolt on and if you decide you want them welded on later I could easily make them weld on for you
