    The Front Differential was next...

I also selected a Harrop E-Locker to the front differential. Nothing against the ARB Air Locker and this would have been an easy choice as I have the Dual ARB Compressor in the truck. Previously I've had E-Lockers in all my Land Cruisers and I'm comfortable with their advantages and disadvantages.

East Coast sends the completed clam shell, so you need to remove the ADD motor section and swap the stub shaft over to the new gears.

    IMG_20200313_165526.jpg

Here the ADD Motor was separated from the stock housing and the Stub Shaft is Visible in the Clam Shell.

East Coast is not very obvious, but I'm sure this is for very good reason :)

    IMG_20200313_171251.jpg

I then made some quick measurements and got the Harrop harness ready for the Switch Pro 9100

Did the 500 mile break in over a few weeks and refilled with Lucas 85W-140 as required by East Coast Gear...

The following week I took a break to do some work on a customers Maserati. Nothing like the pucker factor of cutting into the stock PCM harness adding 2 stand alone computer systems.... After that adding some high flow exhaust was easy ;)

Woah this happened quick! Very nice work and clean installs. It shows you have been around and know exactly what you're doing and what you want from this.

How do you like the ridge grapplers for wheeling in your area ? I am about to move, and would hate to buy a tire in washington and it flop in alabama/georgia clay

When the camper is in the truck, the tailgate is off so a rear camera is needed. Toyota for some reason changed the connectors on the 2020 so anything 2016+ out there now wont work and must be specific to the 2020... The stock rear camera on the 2020 is also 6V and I'm not sure if the older models are the same.

Rostra got the connector issues sorted for the 2020 and I opted for a small camera that I would just build a plate bracket for. Primed and painted it and made a short connector harness to meet the truck connector. Unfortunately the pics are gone so I can't share the wiring schematics~

Test fit for position and camera angle.

I really like them so far. I've done some dirt and rock with no issues and they are very smooth on the road / highway. Note that I don't mud.... I avoid it at all costs :), but the hybrid design should be better than just an AT and a bit less than a MT.... So best of both worlds? Perhaps...

I switched from MT's on my Land Cruiser to AT's a few years ago and never had any issues here in Alabama, but I also don't go flogging in mud holes....

    Sorry I can't be more helpful~

Good to know! I don't plan on going in mud holes if I can avoid it.

Step sliders were next and I went with a set from @BudBuilt in North Carolina.... Quality was excellent and install was very straight forward.

I had them powdered at a local place in Pelham, AL (Alloy Wheel Repair) as they do all my PC work.. Went with a textured black and I think It came out perfect...

Only modification was that I needed to get the mud flap sorted, but that was easy enough.... Again, personally I want to run the flaps and I know most people just take them off.

Then a good AT or Hybrid like the Ridge will work... I spend 98% of my time on road, but I've taken my AT's all over AL, GA and Colorado without issue.. I try to base my decisions of what I really do with my truck, so Hybrid AT/MT was a good choice for me.

    Be safe,

    john~

In keeping with a light weight build, I decided against a full rear bumper and swing out. The 255/80/17 tire and wheel combo was also selected so I could utilize the stock underbody spare location. All I needed to do was move the lift mechanism rearward and the tire fit nicely and tucked up and away from the differential and exhaust.

For the rear I went with a set of Aluminum Wings from @Dissent86 Dissent Offroad paired with the rear lighting option of a set of MicTuning LED Lights... Ben builds some fantastic kit and I'm anxiously awaiting my Gen2 Front Bumper and Winch.

The frame mounted pulls are beefy and probably would be stronger than the hitch.. It's just nice knowing I don't have to pull directly from the bumper like a bunch of other options.

Getting the plastic chrome winglets off made me so happy~

    IMG_20200404_112706.jpg

    IMG_20200404_115243.jpg

Construction and welding of the aluminum winglets was tight.. Nice work Ben !

    IMG_20200404_120419.jpg

    IMG_20200404_120408.jpg

The Rear LED Lights are wired to the SP-9100 with the trigger wire to the reverse lights.. This way I can run them switched and also when I put the truck in reverse.

I think the final product turned out nicely.. Same Powder finish as the sliders.

Thanks... It's a great idea and something that I was lucky to come across.. Easy to change them out if you bash them up a bit...

There's a perfect compartment space right above the glovebox! Why Toyota wasting this space? They should make the upper glovebox similar to the Hilux!
