Ok, I didn't read everyone else's posts so this may have been said already.

But in my opinion, you need something drastic to help trigger a more deep understanding of yourself and start some changes in the departments you want changed.

Start searching craigslist, and find a job in a different place.

I'm from Ohio, and understand the small town vibe thing. You need to get out of there or it will drive you crazy if you're not cut out for it.

Get a new job somewhere new, find a new girl that doesn't know anything about your past and get to know each other.

The new stage in your life will help you learn about who you are and could help you find yourself.

Hope that helps, and good luck!

Most importantly though, know that everyone goes through this in their life and one point or another and make it through. You'll be alright man!

I totally know the answer to this. NO. I guess I am an asshole.. I would do anything for my GF/EX and she knows this. Yet, I am still a dick. I don't get it. (Me) I know exactly what your saying, because I see it all the time. I laugh at the way girls love being treated like shit and now I sit back and think I really didn't treat my girl like she deserved. I am learning everyday that relationships are difficult, yes... Yet the littlest things in them have the LARGEST impact. Things like: Telling her she looks nice, complimenting her hair ( I know guys.. it sounds cheezy ) respecting her friends (even though THEY ARE CRAZY!!!) So I know what your saying, but in this case.. thats not the case

I feel this everyday! I REALLY enjoy teaching.. and no not just because I get summers off.. I mean it's pretty awesome, but not the only reason. I really like coaching, and working with kids. Everyday is different, and some of these kids make me realize that my life isn't that bad! So helping them takes my mind off everything.. but I feel I have more.. I will admit, because of how I like to live.. I am affraid to take the plunge and just jump to new things... huge problem in my head!

I admit, I said I didn't need it... but I think I am going to do it. I'm not embarrassed one bit.. just really need to find someone that I am comfortable with. I did it once 5 years ago. I thought it was a joke. The guy I saw was terrible, so I made an immature decision that all are terrible and it was a waste of my time. I am going to start looking very soon.

As for the hobbies.. for sure. I am going back to school and exploring some new possible side job ideas. I am really into training (not a muscle head, but cardio, total body workouts.. p90 shit) and I really feel I could help people.. one-on-one. I do really well with athletes at my school, so I figured.. what the hell. I HATE THE GYM!! I can't stand the atmosphere!

    For sure.. I agree! Thanks!

I am near Cleveland! I'm off all summer.. I would love to take a trip!

As for the girl situation.. I understand what your saying... but I truly think she is an amazing girl. I think it's me. Everytime we fight or get into an argument, I throw out that I am leaving and this is over. I am not sure why I do or did that... but that is one thing I need to work on. So who knows... this time when I said it, I did it.. so I might not have a chance now anyway... I will be checking out that forum.. keep me in mind for the next one though.

    Thanks !!

Thanks! I am looking. I will need something drastic. I will have about a year to look though.. because I have to finish what I started in some aspects of my job. I coach 2 sports. One just finished an AMAZING season. I know I will crush these kids if I pick up and leave... so I kinda have to prepare for it. But I look everyday man.. trust me!! Thanks for the words though.. I love reading what complete strangers have to say.. as dumb as that sounds..

I know this is a Truck forum.. and most of the time I am reading and trying to learn how to do things to it and take care of it...

    But...

I just wanted to say thanks for all the input. I don't know why, but it really helps reading what all of you say. Knowing that I don't know any of you.. its helpful to hear anything that is said. Even if it's just a "keep your head up", or PM's from some of you that have been in almost the same situations! So thanks!!

Many forums are filled with E-dicks... this one has some pretty down to earth people! Much respect for that!

Just a bunch of old crap
I'm stuck in North Canton on business early this week, and let me tell you... I'm nearly suicidal with boredom. I feel like I'm stuck in the 1980's here, and I'm used to the big city. I feel your pain regarding your location.

No but really, sometimes you just gotta man up. Trust me, things could always be worse. You could have poor health, you could have lost your job, you could crash your truck tomorrow, and your gf could cut off your junk in your sleep.

Look man, I have an ex wife, child support, a felony, and I was risking losing a very good paying job and my home. I worked hard, got my confidence back and turned things around and now I have job security, a great girl that I will be marrying soon (after convincing myself there was nobody left that was worthy), and a whole new outlook on life because I kept my head up and fought through it. Things always seem to work themselves out in the long run as long as you work hard, respect yourself and have confidence. Remember... things can always be worse!

People always run from a guy who seems desperate. Confidence always attracts great friendships and stronger relationships. You were born with a set of balls, so now you're gonna have to wear them.

Oh, and if all else fails... you have a TACOMA!

I was low before.. not quite this low.. but I couldn't agree more about the confidence. I am telling myself.. it's like getting kicked in the nuts... Go down to one knee... get your shit back together... ... ... GET BACK UP!

And for sure about the Tacoma! Love that thing!

You're going to reach crossroads in life, some more intense than others. We all fill our self esteem buckets with temporary stuff like money, success, relationships, etc. Problem is when these things aren't there and we only have ourselves left we face the hard questions. 35 years ago I decided to accept Christ and His leadership in my life and it has made all the difference.
Didn't get rid of all the bad times, but gave me the peace to know that I'd always get through to another day. Still have to deal with a lot of crap, but having Him along for the ride has been the best move of my life.

Bringing this topic back to life with a positive update.

Its obvious its been almost 2 years since I was at this all time low in my life. I am not sure why I even posted this on this site, but was very glad I did. Even though I don't post that much, this is one of the better forums I have been apart of. Thanks to everyone for all the kind words...

The quote above me is the best one of them all. I accepted christ back into my life.. really took a good look at things going on. Everything started to come back together. 7 months after I started that thread, I was blessed with the most amazing woman! We have been super happy and we are getting married this summer. It's pretty cool to be marrying my best friend... and it helps that she is smoking hot!!

    Thanks again to everyone!!
