I set mine on first notch. Stock rear height (with Leer cap) and it's leveled out. No rake. Great ride.

See I actually did the install last weekend. Left on first notch and I feel like it didn't do anything. Still have a rake. 3rd Gen trd sport dcsb

I wouldn't say it's a kush ride. Its just different. the 6112 is a digressive shock while the TRD Sport Hitachi shocks are Progressive. So there is a bit more body roll. The 6112s absorb larger bumps and pot holes but you can feel every single crack in the road. I like them. (What up KC!, How's life on the West side?)

Well i traded out my 100k miles worn out stock sport suspension for the 6112/5160s, so it seems like a whole nother world to my booty dyno. LOL. I'm sure going from new 16 shocks to new shocks wasn't as brilliant, but still nice. I agree I like the fact they still ride like a truck yet are more comfortable than stock. I feel the faster/harder I throw it into a turn the more they respond. (West side! LOL)

I'm going off-roading this weekend with MO4WD.com at their "stocker, no locker" event. I'll let you know how the suspension does off road

I noticed that when I had my stock OR system and my E rated ST/Maxx's, I could feel the E rated tires- the ride was pretty firm. After I installed the 6112/5160's- wow! Night and day difference. The ride really plushed out.
I'm not feeling every crack in the road. It's a firmer more controllable off-road ride, but for some reason it took some bite out of the E rated tires.

We are one inch taller than the stock 2nd gen. What spring did you get?

Digressive shocks lead to less body roll

Is that notch supposed to be 1 inch of life on the 6112? If so, that's the stock height for third gen

Well I didn't know that. Everything I was reading, people were getting anywhere from 3/4" to 7/8" lift on the 1st notch.

Were you reading 2nd or 3rd Gen reviews?

Based on the 6112 being spec'd for the 2nd gen, I was able to get 5/8 on the driver's side and 3/4" on the passenger side with first notch before lifting the rears. These are higher than the 2nd gen, but provide the same amount of "lift" relative to original shock and spring set once you put them in as stated in the sheet that comes with the dampers. I'm 2WD and the front end is lighter on mine, so I still didn't get a full 3/4" - 7/8". If I can find the manual online, I'll post it here.

Talking to the Bilstein technical gurus over the phone, the egghead ( not very people friendly ) basically scolded me for wanting to put these in a 3rd gen Taco. He said they're not valved for the newer truck and they had just released the 5100 series application for the 3rd gens.

I'll try to get a pic in a bit of my truck at work after last week's "lift" to give you an idea of using stock tire size and the 6112/ 5160 combo with a rear AAL that brings it up 1.5" in the rear, while the front is set at the 2nd notch.

5100s are junk compared to a 6112. what the hell is saying that for?

I read a 2nd gen review but some of the posts were from 3rd gen owners

Because, "they're not the correct application even if they fit" was what he told me. I guess based on weight and chassis balance is what they need to tune these for. Who knows... I love the ride though.

All they'll do is update the vehicle application guide for the 6112 to be 2010 - 2016 adn then "they'll be the correct application" just wait
