Yeah.... Deavers don't hold weight well man. THats just how that are. My race pack I have is so soft If I climb into the bed it squats about an inch (I only weigh 130). My buddy had deaver j66 and he had to get the OME Dekar packs to hold the weight he was carrying. Also you can fit some new shocks and have then valved a little stiffer so it can hold the weight better. Bypasses will NEVER fit. also you can fit a Fox 2.0 10" with a stem top into stock location. If you want to keep the deaver packs I suggest a nice pair of shocks and have then valved stiffer and then get rid of the stock bumps and get some nice poly ones they are very cheap.

thanks guys i will do the spotter tomorrrow and then go from there. i thought about bump stops but was told the rebound would be to much without a good shock and possibly will throw my rear end up into the air while running it in the desert.

anymore suggestions are appreciated. will check back in tomorrow after work.

Something isn't right. With a 1.5" lift leaf pack and 5100s there's no way you're bottoming out on small divots. There's something wrong or not installed correctly. To bottom out your setup you'd have to go a bit bigger than small dips in the road.

    a lot!
They shouldn't be so soft that he gets the feeling of bottoming out with no weight in the truck.

Yea, there possibly could be something installed incorrectly. If it's installed correctly then i'd look at the shocks. Im still guessing that is where your issue is.

if they get de arced they will. Deavers don't hold weight well. My buddy had to re-arch them after a year. Also 5100s a valved soft because they are meant for a plush ride on the street

X2... You've got other issues. Forget adding stuff and figure out what's wrong. Do us a favor and measure the distance between your bump stops and the strike pad. That will rule out pretty quick if the leaf springs are sagged out.

I had deavers and fox shocks and had the same problem. I'm running a tsb pack and an add a leaf, no more problem! Do not put bigger bump stops with deavers unless you want to ride around on them ALL the time.

Surprised the Deavers are that soft. Must be true with so many people chiming in regarding the softness of the deavers.

Ok so just got to work and had guy who is about 240 bounce on my rear bumper and I spotted! It actually hit bump stop not hard but did reAch bump stop! So is a good shock able to fix this or do I need new springs and better shocks? What's the deal with the 10" fox? Will this really fit? Any other suggestions hopefully I can get this solved I'm ready to order stuff just want it to be right this time

Just got off the phone with Scott from deavers and he said $100 they can add another leaf! He said this is a problem from Toyota and what they give them to work with! So I am gonna try that with a new set of shocks and hopefully this will work!

Still interested about this 10" fox though and getting it in my truck! Anyone got more info on these or something similar

Bags are terrible for absorbing blows, they're meant for keeping a truck level while towing.

Get the extra leaf from deaver or whatever he recommends and than put a good shock in there. I never personally had an issue witht the 5100s, but without a doubt they are only slightly firmer than stock. Do the fox or icon remote resi shocks for the rear of your truck. Anything longer without lifting blocks will potentially damage the shock. I believe 10 is too long without change mounting locations or using lifting blocks.

A 10" fox 2.0 with a resi and a stem top will fit in stock location. I've installed them before. They at th same size as an 8" with an eye adapter.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.

Skip getting new shocks just yet. See what the extra leaf does first. The 5100s should do fine.

Shocks dont "Hold weight", springs do. The shocks job is to dampen the springs.

    WRONG...

Sorry amigo, but I had an '05 DC and it was doing the same thing as the OP's truck... Didn't know about TSBs back then, and dealer didn't offer any help... So after hearining opinions (Deaver, re-arcing springs, etc.) I went with the recommendation Off Road Warehouse and had Ride Rite (by Firestone) Air Springs ('Bags') added... as well as upping my shocks to 5100s.

The air bags were perfect, adjust the pressure to control firmness based on my load (15-45 psi was my range)... Many Baja trips and desert trips, they never failed.

You should really do a search on this... tons have been posted on the 'harsh ride TSB' and how some of us solved the problem or made the dealer do the TSB (wish I had of, and could have saved the $800 it cost me to fix the soft spring issue).
