box rattling

    i have a 2015 DBCB with 2 JL Audio 10wo-4 10s in a sealed box behind the back seat. the box rattles and makes the bass sound distorted. who has had this problem? does anyone know what kind of material i could put behind it so the box doesnt vibrate?

    Are you sure it's the box and not the plastic seat backs rattling? Test it by turning on some music to get them thumping and place your hand on the seat back, if it stops then you can just remove those things. It won't affect the seat at all, they are just there for cargo support when the seats are folded down.

    It depends...when does the box rattle or buzz? Only at certain bass frequencies or all the time. There could be three things with the box...it has an air leak, its flexing, or the sub wire inside the box is tapping around during bass notes.

    Try to isolate whether it's the interior rattling or the box itself. The only way is to find 1 song that makes everything rattle and slowly go over everything until the rattles are found.

    OP, is your box rattling or is it vibrating against something in the truck? They're 2 very different problems.
