Awesome, thanks for the info, I'll page back and take a look at what you posted up... Just wasn't sure if the eyelet was sized up to accept anything else.

Just so happens I just bought a little 12 ton press :D

Yeah, I did my factory ones this way to add Daystar extended shackles with Poly bushings..... Pain in the butt to say the least.

Got another question for you Adam.

Trying to prioritize my next mod/upgrade.... Was going to be onboard air, and either LR control arms, or dual battery settup. But now there's that group buy going on with the fridge.

I ask because I see your pics camping with the family, I've got a toddler and do more camping as a family than going offroad. Think I should put the fridge in front of the other stuff ?

I would get the fridge ahead of those other things. I don't have a dual battery system or aftermarket control arms yet. Onboard air is nice to have but unless you're running very low pressure on trails and then have lots of highway miles before you can air back up, it's not going to be that big of a deal. I've driven 30+min on 12psi on the highway with no issues. It's probably not the best thing to do with the tires as the sidewall can heat up but you can keep your speed a bit below the speed limit and be ok. Be careful with how driving dynamics change with soft tires.

So yeah for me, I'd get the fridge first. If you do a lot of camping, especially for multiple days a fridge makes such a huge difference IMO.

Kinda what I was thinking... The whole family can benefit from the fridge.

yeah, but if you have on-board air you can blow up beach balls, wading pools and air beds. ;)

This is true, and that WAS some of my justification for it. The other mechanics of the truck is coming along in a reasonable amount of time though, so I'm leaning more on the fridge for this round of purchasing. I'll just have to keep using the battery operated air pump for a little longer . Hopefully this group buy solidifies.

Haven't had even a second to start packing yet. I've got another 14 hr day at work today and again tomorrow. Tuesday night will be a mad scramble to get crap together and then we'll hit the road Wednesday morning about 10am. Fortunately I keep my camping stuff mostly packed in bins and ready to go at a moments notice. Same with the truck stuff. Just have to grab clothes, the dog and get my new RTT mounted to the trailer. :)

very nice....yea we have most of our stuff ready to go still from the last trip...so it's really food, clothes, dogs then throw everything in the truck.. got all my fluids changed over the weekend... didn't get a chance to clearance the fenders any more, so i may still polish the wheel well on some situations...luckily it's nothing major

we're looking to head out late tomorrow night so we can wake up and hit a trail wed morning...get the most out of it

Right on. I should be able to put most of it together tonight but my FedEx tracking shows my tent being delivered tomorrow sometime so that will be the big push tomorrow night is getting the tent set up and mounted.

I found it was WAY easier to to take a drill bit that is as big as the bushing (between the middle and outer sleeve) and drill out the bushing one hole at a time, cut a notch in the outer sleeve, then just pound it out

That's a good method for getting the bushings out if you don't want to smell like nuked rubber for a few days.

Well the big "surprise" was a bit of a let down, at least for now. It's not like I was trying to create a bunch of build up, it was more that I couldn't go public with the details yet. The big change was the Tepui wrap on the truck. It's still in the works but I had to switch vendors to do the wrap. The one I planned to use turned out to be total flop and waste of time.

haha i tried to nuke the rubber, because who doesent like lighting shit on fire. But that didnt work so i had to get creative.

and ok i see. Well im sure the wrap would have looked cool. too bad you dont get to be a rolling bill board now.

The wrap will probably still happen. The plan was to have it done in time for Cruise Moab since I'm there repping Tepui and leading a Tepui sponsored run on Golden Spike on thursday. We leave for Moab wednesday morning. Obviously the "rolling billboard" isn't happening for Cruise Moab. But I have several other events I'm doing through the summer.

FedEx just called and they aren't delivering the new tent until tomorrow (which is too late). I'm going to try to go pick it up at the FedEx depot around noon today. Could be interesting strapping a 200lb tent on top of my other tent that's on the truck. :der:
