You need your roof rack back.........By the way does Tepui have nay type of an upgrade/trade in program. Might be a interesting thing for them to try.

By the way are you allowed to discuss the other details of your position with Tepui yet. I was hoping it was going to be a partnership between Tepui Tents and Box Rocket Fab Bedracks for a package deal...Any such thing in the works?

A Tepui/BoxRocketFab partnership has been discussed. It's definitely a possibility and makes a lot of sense IMO. Regardless of whether or not an "official" partnership is formed, I could still offer a package like that myself. There's more legwork to be done to work out the details and the fact is as all of you know my time to build racks is so hard to find these days, I need to look at having someone help be build them or something so that could take a little time to set up. Also, I'm a little bit possessive of stuff and if it's got my name on it I want to be sure that it's done right so I've made it a point to build every single rack myself up to this point. I've got to get over that as I'm sure there are very capable fabricators out there that would do excellent work on them. The other problem is the cost. By adding another fabricator to build the racks for me it would almost certainly increase the cost of the racks to maintain margins. IMO one of the nice things about my racks is that they've been priced very competitively and aren't beyond most people's budget. I don't want to lose that.

Yeah I can understand all of that. I will certainly be interested to see how it all plays out.

Oh you're leading a vendor trail run huh? That's very cool!

Ya the wrap in that case would be very nice.

Picked up the new Tepui Kukenam XL Ruggedized today. It's a BIG mofo! The upgrades from the standard tents are very nice. It is clearly more durable.

The box filled the back of the "burb" and is a heavy SOB at 220lbs

It'll only take once. If you can convince her to go you'll never have to convince her again cuz she'll be hooked.

I let her drive last week on some gnarlier fire roads and she was super stoked... I'm sure it won't be a tough sell :) although she did liken it to atv'ing which I don't know how to take...

Back from Cruise Moab. Killer trip and a lot of work. I led the Tepui Tents sponsored run on Golden Spike on Thursday. Ended up having my second trail break in almost 20 years of hard wheeling. Snapped an inner tie rod on an optional ledge just after Golden Crack. Didn't have a spare with me. :anonymous: Had to leave the truck on the trail. But it was pretty cool how it all worked out. I broke at one of about 2 places on the whole trail where I could get cell coverage. I called one of my buddies that was just coming out of the San Rafael Swell overnight run and he was in Green River. He was able to head to the parts store for me. The didn't have one in Green River but had one at the Napa in Moab. He got to Moab just before they closed and was able to pick it up. When he picked it up the clerk told him someone ordered it a couple weeks ago and never picked it up. How's that for lucky? About that same time I was coming off the trail. I was supposed to show tents at the vendor night that night but that didnt happen since my buddy and I headed back into the Golden Crack to get my truck. Was a 10 min fix once we got to the truck but made for a fun night run on Gold Bar Rim. Got back to camp about midnight.

Before I broke we were having a great day. There were a couple different groups of built Broncos on the trail. One group was stopped in the canyon section with a broken truck that busted a shock and driveshaft climbing the hard ledge in the canyon. They were all big trucks and this one was big on 38's. We had to wait for them to get fixed and out of the way before we could move. Once they moved, I pulled up and walked the ledge he'd just busted on. The look on his face was priceless. Two 80 series cruisers in our group did the same. About 200 yards later they were stopped with another broken truck with a cracked frame crossmember. Broncos had a bad day. :)

We just chilled on Friday and I hung out with my wife and relaxed. Friday was the dinner and raffle. I ran into Bob and lots of other people. I was able to set up the truck/trailer and tents outside the dinner tent for a bit of a "solo" vender show. Got a few guys that should be calling to order tents this week.

Saturday I was tail gunner on Moab Rim with my buddy Ryan who was leading. He's the guy that took me out to fix my truck. We had a blast. It was a small group and we had a couple dudes from Canada in JDM spec RHD doublecab trucks that were bitchin. I am seriously contemplating trying to pick one up through Land Cruisers Direct since they're importing these from Japan now. Absolutely killer trucks. It's got everything I like about my Tacoma as far as 4 doors and a bed. But they've got a turbo diesel, factory solid front axle and all the aftermarket support that the other early minitrucks have as far as crawlers etc. We nearly dumped one of the 40s in the group going down Devil's Crack, but it was otherwise a relaxing day on the trail.

New Ruggedized Tepui Tent worked out awesome! Seriously impressed with the upgrades on the Ruggedized model.

    Great trip! Pics coming.

First. Here's a couple pics of the busted inner tie rod.

Check out how far this thing bent before it snapped! It's supposed to be straight.
    _MG_0795_zpsaecbd2ef_1882a64f6e091b2f4b2fc70b08a7bf2ab0169acb.jpg

Hard to know for sure, but I'm suspicious that it was defective. Looking at the break it appears by the dark color on the broken surface that this has been defective or broken for a while. The weird thing is that you'll remember this was part of a brand new rack I installed in February. The only clean surface from the break is that shiny bit. I'll be talking to Safari Ltd about it. At the very least they need to know about it and start inspecting these before they go out.

We did our best to get the front end aligned in the dark when I got the new tie rod installed. Looked at it in the light the next morning. Got camber?

Ok here's some Moab pics. Hope nobody minds the photo dump here. Maybe I'll post some up in the Moab section too.

Hardly took any photos on Golden Spike. My wife took a few but I was kinda busy.
