If you get a chance could you snap a few pictures of the fender liner you mocked up. With the glass so wide I'm afraid too much dust and water might get in the intake. I know you said the liner has worked surprisingly well

Yes the JK trim packer is what I'm running and it's easy to install when you're assembling the coilovers. If you are adding them to coilovers you already have, then you'll need to disassemble the coilover because the trim packer goes under the top plate. You should be able to see it in this photo. It's between the top of the coil and the top plate.

883s will work well for a plate bumper and winch setup.

Thanks for the pic! Yeah, i'll be assembling them myself. Are you also running the 5mm trim packer on the drivers side?

Would you recommend the trim packer for driver side lean?

Adam, would you be interested in a 1989 FJ62 Land Cruiser? Guy has ~$15k in restorations (all stock) and it looks very nice. I can get you more info and pics if interested. You will have to ship from VA though :(.

    I think he wants $9500.

    I didn't use it.

No. Thanks though. The primary reason for shopping for a FZJ80 is that I already have a built FZJ80 that is getting tired. Buying a "new" 80 allows me to swap over all of my mods to the new truck so there is essentially no additional cost to build it.

Gotcha. Its a very nice truck but he won't sell unless he knows the buyer is someone that would appreciate it.

I totally get it. FJ62s are sweet and if I didn't already have all the parts to build an 80 then I'd definitely consider it.

I gave away my fiberglass top a little while back also, and got a soft topper for ease... Just wondering in the long run if I'll be sorry about that if I do any serious outdoor trips with the truck.

BTW, finally ordered those axle relocation plates off your buddy at 4crawler, great customer service. ;)

Cool. the 4Crawler plates are great and his customer service is good, but I sure wish he'd redo his website. ;)

as for the topper.....I do a lot of "serious outdoor trips" and have only used my topper on one of them. I really don't see myself missing the topper. I will probably pick up a softtopper just in case I need to protection for gear, but its not likely.

He needs to give that site some serious attention, lol

Yeah, I can tell you do more serious trips than myself. I get the family out when I can in spring and fall, but usually just weekend trips. I have a lot of stuff that stays out in the open in back though. Sleeping bags, even though they're rolled up, misc. stuff that I wouldn't really want to get wet. Haven't figured out how to go completely topless yet :D

    edit:
Here's kind of a typical load out, took my 3yr old out saturday night, this was before I threw in the firewood and minus the wife's things. Backpack with our clothing and that stuff was in back seat.... Realistically I guess I could invest in another container to hold sleeping bags/pads and whatever else and then be able to pull the top if I wanted.

Full ome lift, nitro charger sports all 4 corners (rear shocks relocated), Dakar pack w/ AAL, 882 coils, diff drop, toytec 1" shackles, trail gear low profile front bumper, Tuff Stuff winch, bamf sliders, RAT skids, BAMF Bed Rack, Tepui Kukenam RTT, RAT rear bumper,
The softopper sure is convenient. I wish I had more space to store the rtt and rack in my garage, and get use out of the topper again... Is yours white? Cool.

Or buy a RTT for your sleeping bags. ;) I leave my sleeping bags in the tents all the time and I was amazed how much room I regained for other gear.

This is so true... Our pads and sleeping bag used to take up most of the back seat (with dog kennel too). Now I can fit all of my food and camp gear in the cab with me, and out of conditions. Moving forward I'll have just a small tool box, spare cv and cooler in the bed. All stuff that can get a little weather without I'll effect :)

I've debated selling my softopper, in my position it is tougher to remove/store rtt and rack. Plus the $$ isn't worth it to sell... And my wife might be ticked :)

In your conditions there, I would think a softopper would be a no brainer compromise. It is so ridiculously easy to take on and off! I'd say less than 10mins. Serves the purpose of keeping stuff dry. And out of easy reach from knuckleheads.
