I think it really depends on what type of adventures you do. This spring I used my winch on almost every trip I went on. Mainly because it was me, my wife, and boy in the vehicle, and we were trying to get through areas where the snow still hadn't melted. In the summer time with friends around I never used my winch and started to think it was a waste of money. Having it for solo trips like Adam mentioned above is definitely a good idea though. Without other vehicles to pull you out you really have to watch where you venture.

Yeah, up to this point most of my trips have been with a local group of friends where one or more had winches. That being said, even through some pretty gnarly stuff I've never needed to be winched. I just got back from this solo trip that covered hundreds of backcountry miles through several washouts from recent rains. The Tacoma proved it's worth again and got me through everything without needed to use the winch. But I was glad to have it anyway. It's staying on the Tacoma and I'm taking delivery of a new COMEUP winch for the Cruiser on Monday.

Yes, we saw a few people at Crazy Jug Point but otherwise it felt like we had the world to ourselves on the entire trip with the exception of the boats we saw on Lake Powell and our few fuel stops in civilization. It's was really great.

That sounds really nice. Really. I'm extremely unimpressed by most humans right now. So...perfect.

On the fence with this one. I had this scoop sitting on the shelf and some left over paint so I tried it on the Tacoma. Not sure it will stay permanently. :)

LOTS of wiring, dual battery setup, Solar charging system, with some random lights spread around here and there.
You wouldn't happen to have the start and end points of this trip would you? Hoping to make a few more trips out with the family before the colder season gets here.

Haha, yeah yeah, it was just set on the hood, not "installed". It's not on there anymore. At least until I can find a phallic so it matches yours. ;)

Ebay. It's a OEM replacement Ford Mustang scoop. IIRC I think the vendor was "Hood Scoop Guy" or something like that. haha. It's actually pretty nice quality. MUCH better than a crappy Autozone/Pepboys garbage. It would take a bit of sanding the bottom edge for it to fit the curve of the Tacoma hood perfectly.
