I'm digging it! I've been toying around with vintage stripes, but never could get them to look quite right. Love these though!

The shell is on 90% of the time. But if the trail or needs of the trip dictates it, then I pull the shell and run the rack.

Thanks. Have fun with the trailer. I really enjoyed building it. My design is definitely not unique, and others I know have built trailers based on my design already so have at it.

Not much to report, but I swapped out one of the lift struts on my Snugtop the other day and mounted my maglite in the cab.

What # are the struts on your shell? Mine were both shot when I bought the truck. Replaced them but the lightest weight I could find was 40# Way too hard to open/close.

    Nice. Clean install.

As for the photoshop of the old school decals... looks cool, I admit, but IMO your truck is too clean looking and the decals end up being distracting.

That's just my eye, of course.

I'll look at them again. I found some replacements at a local warehouse. They aren't exact replacements but worked. They were pretty light.

Thanks. The only ones I could find in the right length were the 40 pounders. It takes both hands to open/close the door now. I don't let anyone else open it because I'm afraid they will get an uppercut on the chin from letting it "spring up" on its own.

Im sure you've answered this question somewhere but are those 15x7's or 15x8? Im looking into 33x10.5-15 Km2's and wondering if 8" will be too wide.

Honestly I'm not 100% positive since they were on the truck when I got it, but I'm almost certain they are 15x8's.

I just used a couple exhaust clamps. Nothing special but it's what I had on hand. You could do the same thing with a couple small u bolts. You could also just drill a couple holes in your Thule bars and run a bolt and wing nut through it.

Do you have any pics of your rear bumper build up? I like that one the best of all the ones I've seen. Hopefully it's not too tough to build. Also, do you have a build page for your trailer?

oh yeah, when my truck grows up, it wants to be like yours...

I don't have any photos during the build process of my rear bumper. the day I built it my wife was gone and I only hada few hours to work on it while she was gone so I worked fast and didn't take pics. :) Sorry.

I'll do my best to describe what I did though....

I started with a 3x5 box channel for the main section. I cut it to the right length, and capped the ends with scrap from what I cut off. Then I marked the center section that I wanted to remove for the receiver hitch. I used a cutoff wheel to cut that out. With the leftover peices I cut three sections to close the hole I had created.

I reused my stock bumper brackets. I just cut the ends off of the brackets to created a flat edge to weld to the back of the bumper. After welding on the brackets, I added some gussets to both sides.

Now I could mount the bumper and get the side tubes cut correctly. The side tubes were cut from a scrap rollcage hoop that had two 90* bends and a couple more 30* bends. I measured and cut the two side tubes for the bumper using the 90* bend sections. Then welded those to the bumper. After that I welded in the receiver hitch I got from Harbor Freight. Added a gusset behind the bumper on the top of the receiver tube to reinforce that. Then I cut two separate peices from the remaining 30* bend sections from the rollcage scrap. Those two peices make up the tube under the receiver hitch. There is a welded seam directly under the center of the receiver hitch where those two peices were welded together.

That was pretty much it. I added some solid bar stock from the back of the receiver tube to the round tube beneath that work as addition gussets for the receiver tube and also for attachment points for my towing safety chains.

For the side wings, I purchased some Trail Gear rear bumper brackets to tie the side wings back to the frame. Those worked out perfectly. Pretty simple build overall.

I can add a build thread for the trailer but I'm not sure where it would belong.
