So far the Tepui is great. Hasn't been fully tested yet though. We're finally finished with our project at work and I've got about 5 weeks of comp time starting next week. Stoked about that. With the time off the tent is going to get some heavy use. We've got a trip out to California planned, then in August we're heading up into the Black Hills in SD and to see Rushmore. Then in September my two boys and I are doing a sequel trip to the Utah Cruiser Expedition I did with some friends a couple years ago where we traversed the entire state from the SE corner all the way up to the NW corner of the state almost entirely on dirt roads. That was almost 1200 miles on dirt. In the past we've done the same thing travelling north to south, east to west and the diagonal one I just mentioned so this next one is from the lowest elevation in the state to the highest. Looking forward to all of these. The UCE trip I won't take the trailer but the tent will be mounted on the truck for that one.

Good god that is an awesome trip! Your truck is going to get some use! I got a three day trip next week. Going to be able to test my truck out a bit more.

It's not completely nailed down yet, but it's all in SoCal. Only thing for sure is we'll be hitting D-land with the kids for a few days.

Cruiser Outfitters (also in Sandy) is having a customer appreciation BBQ on the 9th at Flat Iron Mesa Park in Sandy at 5:30pm. It's also a Wasatch Cruisers (local toyota club) event so there will be TONS of Tacomas and Cruisers. You should come check it out.

What battery would you suggest? I want to get a good deep cycle battery. Maybe in the future a dual setup.

I think the Diehard Platinums are good. Or run a redtop Optima as a primary and a yellowtop as a secondary.

Do you think the yellow top as a primary is going over board?

LOTS of wiring, dual battery setup, Solar charging system, with some random lights spread around here and there.
I run a yellow top as my primary and it is amazing so far. I've even jumped a bunch of cars off of the battery while the truck is off and had no problems. As previously said a red top primary and a secondary of yellow would be plenty.

I have run a yellow top as a primary in the past and it was fine.
