This is one of the ideas I used in my truck. Seating for 4 in a single cab. Plus I just might leave my camper on and put an internal cage for the kids

For whatever reason I don't think I have ever complemented you on your build but you sir build awesome 4wd Toyota's. I've kept up with your past and they have all been top notch. You make me regret getting rid of my 1st gen dcab.

Want to trade for a FJ? :D jk

    Keep up the great work.

I have no doubt you have the safety of your boys in mind when they're riding back there... is it just a lap belt for a seat belt? And is there enough air flow back there?

Also, is there anyway to securely mount a couple of "oh shit" handles for them?

Get some grab handles and glue it to the ceiling with 3M 5200. They would never come off. Ever.

I'm working on figuring out some grab handles. Air flow is good. We just open the windows from the cab into the bed. The side windows of the shell open too.

Seatbelts are just lap belts. No different than the middle seat in the back of a double cab.

    Awesome Tacoma!
You have given me some inspiration!
    1. The bed rack (found that post)
    2. The Spare Tire (searching for that post) - can you pm me details or where to look?

I will post a photo of the Yeti when I can.

Coming from an 03 Audi RS6 is quite a change but clearly refreshing!

So I've spent the last week or so taking a closer look at my steering rack and mounts, while I wait for replacement bolts from the dealer. Rack seems fine and the frame bracket isn't tweaked like I thought it might be. The u-shaped bracket was bent slightly but I got that straightened out. I got the new driverside rack mounting bolt from the dealer yesterday and put it back in and reinstalled my skids. All back together and ready for some fun soon.

I added a second aux power plug in the bed.

I will also be rebuilding part of my bedrack in the next few weeks. I need it to be a little taller to clear my fridge. I'm building a pullout deck for the fridge with some HD drawer slides I've had for years and years. The new pull out will make it so the fridge fits too tightly under the rack so the rack will be getting new legs and new tool mounts.

I got a few more questions about my seats so I snapped a few better pics. As a refresher I swapped in some front buckets from a Suzuki Reno. The were pretty inexpensive from a junkyard, and suprisingly comfy with much better side bolsters than the factory seats. I'm using some Smittybuilt Carryall seat covers. These have worked out better than I would have thought. I like the pockets in the backs and they get used constantly to hold a variety of stuff on trips.

I picked up a seat of cheap seat covers from Autozone that I use on the rear seat. (came with covers for two buckets and a rear seat). I use the two bucket seat covers on the factory seats that are installed in the bed.

    Rear seat.

Seats in the bed. These are factory seats welded to a custom seat frame that is bolted through the bed floor with large backing plates. Both seats have lap belts. I also have a fan to pull cool air from the cab into the bed.

Adam, is it my eyes, or do your factory buckets tilt inwards?
My seats actually tilt inwards as well, pretty significantly. I thought it was a result of the beating I put my truck through.

Not much. The Suzuki seats had sliding rails that were the same width as the factory seats. So I cut the mounting brackets off both sets of seats and welded the factory brackets to the Suzuki seats and they bolted right in.

I'm pretty sure it's just from the wide angle lens I used. They're pretty straight.
