Ughhhh can't stop lurking through pics... Hands down best 1st gen. Just wish I could install all of this myself... no tools and hardly any experience with this sort of installation.

Everyone starts somewhere. And there's no better way to learn about your truck than trying to do as much as you can yourself. Find someone who can look over your shoulder and give it a shot.

Only a few things left that I really feel like I "need".

Winch. Planning on a Warn M8000, or I might give the XRC8 a try.
    Skid plates.
    Rear frame plates.

After that, I'd like to build an over the cab light bar for a low profile LED light bar. I'm just trying to get a design in my head that will work.

Also, I might regear to 4.88 but that's way down the list.

18-20mpg typically. But last week I went through a full tank on the highway and got almost 22mpg. Not bad. 18 is most typical with city driving.

I've done pretty much nothing for "performance". The way this truck gets used it's more about reliabilty for me. Sure there are minor performance mods that don't hurt reliability too bad, but the gains versus the cost if those mods usually makes no sense at all. I've had plenty of cars that I've modded for performance and I don't care what it is it will affect reliability. Nothing wrong with performance mods if that's your thing, it's just not the goal for this truck.

I'm curious about the mileage also. I'm getting 16 staying on the interstate almost exclusively. I'd love to be getting 22 highway.

Maybe I just drive like a grandma or something. I don't know what the difference is. I'm calculating the same way you are. Anything above 20mpg is very rare for me. It's only happened a couple times. Like I said earlier I am generally closer to 18 mpg.

I have pretty much the same truck but on 32x11.5's and am getting an average of 17mpg. The other week I got 17.75mpg and that was the highest it's been in a long while. I guess we just have shit gas here in CA  I would be happy as hell to average 18mpg

Fuel quality might play a part. I still think driving style is a big factor.

If I drive it harder, I seem to get better gas mileage than if I don't. Still can't seem to brave driving 60mph on the freeway in CA, semi truck drivers usually drive faster than that

Yep the legs come long enough that you can cut them to the length that you want to have the sliders tucked in tight or out a little farther. It's all up to you.

I did notch the pinch weld. sorry no pics other than what is already posted at the beginning of this thread about when I put them together.

Nope. Sorry. Just line them up how you want them on the truck and measure-mark-cut-weld.
