Howdy Everyone! I'm new. nice to meet you all.

I made this account specifically for my 2009 Tacoma, so lets get to business.

I went down to Town Fair tire yesterday to get some wheels and tires. I ended up getting Master craft Courser AXT with the wheel package that came with these 16"s:

I got a sick deal of about $1,114 which included the alignment, tire rotation, air pressure sensor etc...I was in the waiting room hanging out and the manager comes out and tells me the tires do not fit. He tells me the Brake calipers is getting in the way and theres nothing they can do. He tried selling another ones but with all the anticipation, I was already in love with these. More or less the design. The only other ones that would fit my truck would be these:

He said these were the only ones that would fit my truck. He had to order them and I ended up saying no because I knew i wasn't going to be satisfied once they were installed.

Now. Is there any place you guys could recommend where I could get lucky. I'm mainly looking for wheel like this:

Nothing crazy or flashy. I called a bunch of places and apparently its really hard to find wheels for Tacomas. Pro Comp didn't have any in my size and of course i don't want to risk buying tires on line and finding out they don't fit because of the brake caliper.

Please help. Also tell me a little about Mastercrafts if anyone has had some experience, i was gonna go with the Bf GoodRich A/t of course

    Thanks.

well i don't have the mastercraft wheels but the ones i have look the same (rockcrushers i think) on my 2005 tacoma. its 16x8 with (i think) a 4.50 inch back space. like you, i fell in love with the look and i liked the fact that it was steal also. the shop that i bought them from tried "shaving" down the stock caliper to make them fit and shaved to much so the calipers started leaking. since it was sunday at about 12:45 pm, my local Toyota dealer was closed (12:30 closing time) so i was SOL on getting it replaced. as a fix, the shop tried putting on a set of 2004 calipers and rotors from a 4x4 tacoma and they fit. they also put on the wheels and they fit also, about a eighth of an inch away from the caliper but they fit. i know i'm going to get crap for downgrading my calipers and i'm not going to tell you to do it but, i've been running mines since 2005 and have had no problems or even close calls at all. when i want to stop, it does. hope this helps you out.

I like these aluminum rims I got at Discount Tire. They're called Level 8 Trackers and were only about $125 per rim. Sorry I don't have any pics of them on my truck.

Because of the caliper issue, most 16" aftermarket wheels will not fit the 6-lug 2nd Gen.
You can bump up to 17", but I'm not sure if you can get the wheel/tire combo you really want in 17"

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
If you are dead set on those wheels, get a 1/4" spacer and longer studs. There are many 16" wheels out there that fit the taco. I'm running 16" pro comp 8069s and 16" xd enduros.

Not only should you get crap for it, that shop should be shut down.

Pray that you are NEVER involved in an accident, you'll get raked over the coals in court. The brakes on the Tacoma are bad enough as it is.

These look awesome! Are these guys easy to deal with? This would fit my truck despite the brake caliper placement? Did you get a package or you bought tires separately ?

    Thanks home boy

Discount Tire are awesome people to deal with. Townfair's prices are easily 30% higher than anyone else unless you price match. Make sure you do your homework and have printouts of websites that offer the same thing you want for a lot cheaper. If you just walk into Townfair and think you're getting a deal, you're getting raped and don't even know it.
