I just bought a travel trailer and I'm having a question about wiring the brake controller. My vehicle came with the tow package and the wiring harness that it came with has a total of 5 wires coming out of it. I bought a Tekonsha Prius IQ brake controller but it only has 4 wires coming out of the back of it. Any ideas? If I follow the diagram for both of the wiring harnesses it appears that the green wire for the head lamp switch does not have one to connect to on the brake controller. I can order a specific plug for my vehicle from the RV dealership but didn't know if there was a way to make this work or not. Any help would be great. Thank you.

Your over thinking this brah.....its way easier than that. Go to EBay and buy a Tekonsha to Tacoma harness for like 10 bucks. It's plug and play (Your taco had a plug for it behind the left drivers footwell)

I think you sent him the flux capacitor plans by mistake, he just needs a simple adapter. :)

Thanks though, its a good reference!

3017-P is the right one- @GoldenBrew was correct. I use the same one on my 2017 OR and it was easy to install. If it fits, consider putting your controller in the cubby on the left side of the dash, you just have to drill a hole at the back to install the harness, and it will be easy to cover if you ever remove it later instead of drilling screw mount holes in your dash- or maybe consider a large industrial velcro pad to hold it. Also, stay clear of the under dash air bag!

I think he sent me plans for the death star. Lol. But seriously thank you for all the input. I am going to order wiring harness and be done with it.

Read on this forum where a guy had a short in his P3 and it burned into $6k in damages. Tekonsha replaced the 3017-P with the 3031 which has a ground to truck. I ordered the 3017-P before I knew of the issue and the replacement by Tekonsha. Will be returning the 3017-P and have the 3031 on order.
