I've got a new 2012 Tacoma TRO Sport and almost right away I noticed some vibration while braking. Took it in for my 5K service and the realer resurfaced the rotors which did not fix the problem. The shake only happens when I'm braking (fairly hard) at a intersection where the road has a "washboard" surface. The truck shakes like crazy which feels like a brake problem? Was told that in 2011 Toyota extended the Tacoma frame and when they tuned the suspension for the TRO Sport ride, they overcompensated? Sorry, not a motor head and don't know what that means. Taking it back to the dealer in a week or two so they can play with it, but they don't have a clue. Any advice?????

Your rotors maybe warped. The brakes and rotors should be replaced if that is truely the problem. If it was a brake problem I would expect the shake to happen when you are going fast and braking heard such as getting off the free way and slowing from 65-70mph.

It may just be that you are getting bounced around when going over the wash board? Not sure. If it happens all then time when braking hard then you may have something there.

Thanks Normad. Yes the vibration happens when braking from highway speed. The dealership already resurfaced the rotors once. I'm taking it back next week for a complete eval to include not only brakes but allignment, tires and balance. Hopefully they will find something. Thanks again.

is the vib in the steering wheel or in the seat? if its in the seat thats the rear end. I went round and round with them (toyota) and finally they figured out they put out a large number of rear drums that were out of round. If your truck was made in Baja California, MX, its a good chance this is what it is. Let me know and I can link you to a thread with more info

Thanks for the response. Yes, the vibration does feel more from the seat. BTW what year was your truck?

Took the truck in yesterday. They machined the rear drums and that fixed the problem. Thanks for your help.
