A few mods here and there and counting....
Thats weird. When i ordered them(2 weeks ago), the left side was listed on the site, but on backorder. I ended up getting both rotors in 5 days.

Hmmm, I never saw the left side listed and I’ve been checking weekly on Wheel Well. Just found them at several other places for $118/piece w/free shipping and no tax at least.

Please note that I purchased these rotors and my pads were gone during a trip so the rotors got scratched, I couldn’t find anybody to tun them so I ended up installing the OEM back on and the stop techs are just sitting in the garage.

Search with the part number. It's almost impossible to find otherwise. I also ordered a set when the left was listed as backordered and they bother arrived within a week. $97 each for me. Bought a 5th wheel as well hence the price with the discount

The listing doesn’t state cryo but going off the OP part number this is the link for the left side
    https://wheelwell.com/shop/stoptech...=TRD Sport&make=Toyota&model=Tacoma&year=2016

Their customer service was great for me. They answered every question I had and even took the time to look up product too. Maybe you just got a bad rep at the time. Still haven’t pulled the trigger cause i have to order over $500 worth of product to get discount.

Appreciate it! Which code did you end up using? I’m getting the welcome one to work, but it’s only $100 off... Same price as several other places $117 and change

Thanks for the link! I couldn’t ever get anyone on the live chat to answer. Or a reply back to my emails.

That's an outstanding write up @crashnburn80 . However you missed one point in it, intended use of the vehicle. A vehicle that is just a daily driver has different needs than a race truck/car and the same goes for a vehicle that tows. Yes the need to stop the vehicle is the same but the conditions (quantity of heat) the braking system is put under are vastly different on vehicles with different uses. What is best for a vehicle that is raced is not always best for a daily driver, or a tow vehicle, etc... No I did not read past the first post - yet. Waaaaay better write up than I can do by far. Very accurate writing/reading. Outstanding job. Bravo.

@crashnburn80 I read the whole thread finally. My application will be a 2005 DCLB Prerunner with 17" wheels and 33's. I'm a cheap bastard and like using stock "bigger" parts when I can, usually used rebuilt by myself, to improve performance.

The Sequoia MC sounds like a decent bang for the buck. What year Sequoia is the donor? Any TacomaWorld links?

The 4Runner calipers, a 3mm bigger piston that use the same sized pads. I'm sure Toyota did that change because the 4Runner is heavier than a Taco (guessing). But I don't think a 3mm difference is going to meet my expectations/desires. My wife's ex husband put Tundra calipers on his 4Runner but since he's a major ef'n a-hole I don't want to talk to him about that swap. I'm guessing you probably know the difference between 4Runner and Tundra calipers already and I'd appreciate your .02 on that topic. What year 4Runners and what year Tundras? Also are there any aftermarket fairly inexpensive calipers that work with the stock diameter rotor that you think I should consider?

The use these parts will see is grandpa driving 80% of the time, a insane race truck driver 10% of the time, towing 5% of the time, and towing waaaaay over recomended weight with weight in the pickup bed 5% of the time (yeah I know lol).

Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

I haven't dug into the Sequoia MC a ton, as in ATRAC equiped vehicles like mine, it eliminates all the ATRAC functions since it is not an electronically boosted MC. Typically this is done with a rear disc conversion, as the rear discs require higher fluid volumes than the drums. I'm not sure if the brake proportioning is changed in the swap. You need a 2007 Sequoia unit, SOS sells a kit:
    https://sosperformance.com/products/2005-2008-master-cylinder-kit

The 4runner swap benefit isn't just he calipers, it uses a larger rotor (319 vs 338mm) as well. You can essentially build a smaller big brake kit without the cost of a full aftermarket BBK. In the 4runner swap, I'd recommend using the same StopTech rotors from this thread, but the larger 4runner versions. Here is a thread on the 4runner brake conversion, it utilizes components off the 2010+ 4runner:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...unner-bbk-upgrade-for-2nd-gen-tacomas.504234/

I've only heard of 1st Gens doing a Tundra swap, I'm unfamiliar with a 2nd Gen version.

The 4runner upgrade with the StopTech rotors is going to be the next best thing to a true BBK and would be a good addition to towing. For calipers you'll just want to get remanufactured units from a reputable brand. BBKs offer better forged calipers, but also at a significantly increased cost, and if buying new calipers you might as well get a BBK kit. For best heat range for towing, a semi-metallic pad can handle higher temperatures, but isn't quiet as nice for a daily driver as a ceramic. With a 2005 be sure to flush your brake fluid if you haven't already.

I’ve researched this swap [2nd gen to tundra] to death. The calipers are for all intents and purposes, the same. If I remember correctly it’s the location or angle of the brake line connection that’s different. There’s no performance gain for 2nd gen.

IIRC, it was similar to stock 2nd Gen. But on a 1st Gen there was a size increase from stock. I’ve never really looked much into it though being I sold my 1st Gen long ago.

That’s correct. It’s an upgrade for 1st gens.

Correction on my earlier post. For some reason I was thinking the Sequoia MC upgrade also included the booster, it does not. So ATRA functions would be unaffected as the ATRAC electronically operated booster remains for those trucks equipped with ATRAC. I added a correction to the earlier post.

The Sequoia MC in a Tacoma uses the Tacoma booster? I read the opposite on a different forum. I'm not implying you're wrong, I want to understand your opinion correctly is all. Somewhere else (? I don't recall where) I read the Sequoia booster is a smaller diameter than the Tacomas and is a dual diaphragm vs the Tacomas single. I might have researched that myself, I don't recall. Which booster CnB? Thank you.

Look at the SOS kit. It is a just an MC swap with an adapter for the existing Tacoma booster:

Have you ever driven a early 70's Ford truck when it's unloaded? Complete ancient crap brakes will put you through the windshield if you're not paying attention. I've never researched it but I've always thought they're like that either because of the volume of brake fluid moved or the booster's ability to assist - or both. So if I can shove a better bigger booster in a Tacoma I think it'll stop that much quicker. I've been wrong many times, lol.

Edit: When the old Ford was heavily loaded and towing those brakes faded really fast.
