Stop right there, don't drive it and replace those brake pads. Those brakes are done plus a lot more. The left most pad looks to be metal on metal. You also may need new rotors.

The good news is you have aprox. 3 to 6 months before you'll need new caliper pistons. (Meaning you'll have used every bit of your pads and are now piston on rotor.) Most brake pads have a notch in the center that's viewable from the same angle as the picture you have above. When that notch is about gone I start to think about replacing mine. Looks like you wait the it's down to the rivets on the backing plate before you start worrying about yours. Seriously, change your pads, and check your rotors roughness.

No. Is my sarcasm meter broken again?

I hope it is and you are not serious. He needs pads yesterday.

It's broke buddy. For a second I thought OP was posting this as a joke so I humored him but maybe he really is being serious. I actually concurred with you in that post.

WTF dude, OP, you are joking, right? Those are about the worst I've ever seen, how have you been stopping your truck? Do you have the flintstone foot pad mod?

it's hard to tell from the photo but I don't think it's as bad as you guys are making it out to be.

the right pad has about 1/4" left, which is low, and probably close to the indicator, but not gravely low

the left appears damaged? but typically both pads usually wear equally so i'd imagine it also has 1/4" left.

I would certainly change soon, but you shouldn't die driving the truck

However, this is a public service announcement to all owners because this truck before the brake service stopped just fine, made no squeaking or grinding noise, had normal brake fluid level, and otherwise seemed fine. Periodically check your brakes !
