Changed the brakes yesterday and the 2001 tacoma has to be the easiest brakes I have ever changed. I think anybody with a little mechanic skill can do this. I also changed out the drivers lower ball joint, but had my father-n-law to help me. He is a retired mechanic and still has alot of the tools you need. Was suprised that ball joint used mostly standard sockets to change. On the brakes you don't have to remove the calibers off the rotor at all. Take off the anti-ratler and remove the two pins, push back the calibers and remove the pads, resert the new pads and put pins back in and your done. Rick
