Well that recipe is a keeper. Bread is moist and packed with flavor. Add butter and a cup of coffee. Sit back and enjoy!

Okay…So day 2 update since my son’s lab helped herself to a half loaf off the counter this morning. I’ve used a recipe passed down from generations for years, but no longer. This is one is incredibly moist and flavorful. The recipe is simple and is producing consistent results.

Herein lies my problem…(notice she is trying hard to not look at me right now! Hahaha)

    X-post:

I cannot remember if it was this thread or the Pizza thread
I also don't remember which one of you had the advice

I was having issues with my pizza dough not being as stretchy as I would like
One of y'allz told me to increase the hydration by a few %
I went from 57% to 62% and now the dough is much easier to stretch and work with

So a big THANK YOU to whomever made that suggestion!

There are a lot of great bread bakers here. I am interested in trying to bake bread. What brand flour do you guys and gals use? Do you weigh ingredients verses measuring cup? What brand yeast? Instant yeast any good?

I like crusty rustic type breads. Anyone have a recommendation for a very easy but good bread recipe for a first timer?

It is a no knead recipe! I mean, you do fold it over on itself a few times, but not traditional kneading at all. Give it a go! Super simple.

I will try it this week. Do you weigh the flour or just use measuring cups?

    I weigh everything
Doing it by mass yeilds more consistent results
And once you are used to weighing things out, it goes faster too
