Going out with a group of friends to the titty bar usually helps ease it a bit. Really though, pretty much time is what does it. There's not one specific thing that you can do to instantly forget things. My buddy who got divorced not too long ago has gotten much closer to church and has been going on missions trips.

Shoot did I just put church and titty bar in the same conversation?:devil::pray:

i had a lot of trouble when i finally had to break it off with my girlfriend of 3 years. we were the "perfect couple," as most people said; the small town cheerleading captain and football star. once it came time for college we realized that it wouldn't work. we were going different ways and we were different people than we were 3 years before. to be honest, it was tough, real tough. i took it hard and spent a lot of time in the bottle and smoking it up. i wasted a lot of time on her and getting over her. now that it's been over a year, i can look back and realize it was so stupid. i promise you that in a year, you will be able to say the same thing. better things and people will come your way in due time. but the truth is that it will suck, but the way you deal with it will determine how bad it will suck. if you dwell on it, it will take forever to get over her. if you just let it be, it won't be so long. don't turn to heavy drinking or anything like that, i promise that you will regret it. the best thing is to STAY BUSY. hang out with friends more, start a new project on your truck, start working more hours at work, if you're ready for it, even take a few different girls out on some dates. the main thing is to keep your mind occupied so you will not think about it.

thanks for the advice.. sounds like me and you were in the same boat as i am right now... Just hate being attached to her family and letting them go like that as well. her dad even helped me with my satoshi. but i guess were too young to be in love and need to go our seperate ways. Im in need of a rebound for sure.

I probably shouldn't say anything, because I'm too old to have any advice relevant, but...

the best lessons in life are the ones that are learnt the hardest. The lesson for today is that there will always be someone new.

yeah, i understand that too. whenever i see her family i still talk to them. but just hang out with your buds for a while and spend some time with your family while you still have them. then in a few weeks or when you're ready, take some different girls out and have some fun. you are off that leash and have some freedom.

Unfortunately things like this just take time. You will grow and become a better person because you've experienced and worked through the trial.
