Nope, sealed with silicone and tested, worked fine. Installed on truck and nothing. checked wiring, cussed, took it back off and bench tested it and nothing. Put the other one on the truck and it worked fine. in fact i been checking it (replacement)every hour or less and still working.
I'll screw around with it another day

Hahaha I had one but I didn't like the way my truck looks right now so I took it off. By the way its time to start my build thread soon. Starting with my bed cage, boxing my rear frame and new tube bumpers. A lot of fab work.

Not much going on here lately, replaced a tire that had sidewall damage.
Just a slight pinch in the sidewall and it was losing air daily and after airing it up everyday for the last 3 weeks I decided to do something about it.

    Replaced rear brakes today.
    Started like this.

Took all that crap off, skipped the pics because I forgot.
    remembered about this stage .
    Self adjuster. slightly cleaned up.

Lubed, threads and the end that spins.

    E-brake lever installed
    [IMG]

    Adjuster mechanism.

Don't forget this cable for the parking brake, mush easier to do it now than after you have all the springs installed.

    Backing plate "cleaned" and greased.

And completed. Looks just like the other side but reversed.

I'm not sure if they were original or not.
I bought the truck with 110,xxx miles on it. This is the first time I have changed them and I have 230,xxx miles now.
The old shoes did have more surface area of pad, meaning the brake pad itself went full length on the shoes. The new ones from O'Reilly were about 1/2" short on one end of the shoes, all were exactly the same. So going off of Toyota's track record of building things better, they very well could be original. Or they may have been changed just before I bought it. :notsure:
At the very least, I got 120,xxx out of them.

You know the tail pipe end that everybody cuts off after a lift? Well the tip just happens to be a perfect fit inside the 2.5

And the stock pipe just happens to fit inside of that.

I angled the old pipe a bit more.

Of course, I ran around the block first with no muffler right after removing it. I liked it a lot. :D
But it did pop and backfire a bit and I'm already the neighborhood nuisance, so I finished the job.

It idles almost exactly the same as far as tone and volume. Has a nice throaty growl when you step on it. Going for a drive.
