Anytime man. Also was looking at your build, thinking about getting dakars cuz the toytec aal with stock springs isn't doing the job. But I don't want my rear end higher than my front

You can always pull a leaf out of the Dakar pack. But I'd let them settle for a bit after install, they may settle right where you want them.

Swapped out the front rotors and pads today with the EBC stage 3 brake kit.
    Old vs New

Racing grooves in the old rotors, over 240,000 miles on these, and surprisingly not warped, but way worn out.

old vs new pads, mine were worn out so it was time.

This took about 45 minutes to swap out both sides and the tires back on the ground.

Really too early to tell, needs 1000 miles of "urban driving" to bed them in, per the instructions.
So after 27 miles so far I can say they stop better than the old ones did.

How do you like the Detroit locker? Any negative effects on road? Hoping to finally regear and lock the rear with tax return monies. I originally planned on getting an arb but if I can save a few pennies I wouldn't mind an auto locker.

I like it fine. You may notice a difference when you corner on dry pavement. The rear will chirp the tires if you power into a corner. The rear may also hop a bit if you coast through a corner after loading (accelerating). I wouldn't call those negative effects but rather effects of driving with a locked rear end. You'll love it off road.
I've had no problems on packed snowy streets, in fact, it gets around great. Nothing but confidence when driving around town.

I don't remember if this was discussed earlier in the thread but, did you use the stock shackles when you installed the dakar leaf pack?

Yes I did. I eventually replaced them with the grease-able set but the stockers worked just fine.

What's the update on the stage 3 brake setup? It must be fully bedded by now...
Also out of curiosity any worry about mud rocks or grit collecting in the 'drilled and slotted' portion of the rotors?

Since you asked, the brakes are grabbing and stopping just fine
They worked great from the start, there was a few times when you could feel them REALLY grab, and sometimes they pulled to the side, which made me frown. But the closer they got to that 1000 mile mark, the better they got and now they feel much better than my originals.
I'm not sure why they required such a long "bed in" period. My buddy actually laughed at me about that. I flipped him off in return. (he drives a 2nd gen, so his opinion is invalid)

The slots and dimples are actually designed to remove the debris, that's why I'm trying them. My old smooth rotors were forever picking up crap in the groove on the brake pad itself and squealing from there. I'd slam on the brake pedal, reverse, get out and kick it, swear, still squealing like fingers on a chalkboard.
Hoping this doesn't happen with the new rotors. :)
