Taco frame out to out is 31 1/2"
Tundra frame out to out is 38 1/2"

The radiator sits below the bottom of the frame.

Thank you! Well shit there goes that idea. I found a tundra 00-06 all aluminum radiator. Was considering it because it works with the 3.4 tundra.

Brett what brand fluid are you running in your new OEM rack? Toyota brand ps fluid?

Also was it centered when you got it or did you center it to be sure?

I used Valvoline Max Life ATF, not sure it really matters.
And yes, I centered it before installing it. I used a set of vise grips, lightly clamped to the splines, don't mess them up. I made a Sharpie mark in a straight line on the splined shaft for a visual, then I counted full rotations one way then the other, split the difference and went for it. Make sure you secure your steering wheel in the centered position before removing the old rack.

Shit yeah I meant ATF. So you use the Dex/Merc stuff that's rated for like 3 and above? I use a similar dex/merc one that isn't specifically stated as Dexron iii only, and I wasn't sure if that was a concern. And yeah I learned the hard way about not centering a rack last time, wanted to be sure it would be the same situation. Thanks Brett! Now I gotta find motivation to get the damn thing in.

 Dam I didn't think to center the steering rack when I put the truck back together. When I replace it I'll make sure I do.

Took the dog up Green Ridge, my favorite trail here in the North.

Visited the memorial, He gets fresh flowers every year it seems and the unopened Blue Moon is original as far as I can tell, it gets a little more faded each year. How it doesn't freeze and burst is a mystery to me.

    Stopped for lunch.

And ended the day by driving thru that sinkhole at the end. Prolly the last time I go thru it, damn near ended the life of the truck. It's gotten super soft and mucky at the bottom, I had to floor it and was about to shit myself as it started to actually sink instead of pulling forward. Thought for sure I was gonna get my feet wet and be pulling plugs.

    Fully submerged the front end.

mud and water in the air box.

Just as I suspected, that hole has been rutted out by bigger boys with swampers or tractor wheels, the knobby tread pattern was everywhere. I would have done the same thing if I had still been driving that Scout. The bypass has been firmly established at this point, it's actually dry ground now, so maybe it'll just be that way. Otherwise the entire area will be closed off from the mudders making bigger holes.

Have you had any chunking from your maxxs yet? I'm in need of 2 new ones soon and I'm debating if I should try sipping them or not.

Nah, I've never ever regretted siping any set of tires I've ran. They just run so much smoother, wear even, and the traction is greatly improved on all surfaces.
