Oh neat! I guess I should probably take a look over there.

How is the stock ECU handled with this setup?

My stock ECU is entirely removed, no traces left of it haha. Thankfully I have a manual trans. If you have an automatic trans we leave it installed to control that but it doesn't control the engine at all. I am currently working on a harness and programming to control the A340 directly with the Haltech as well so that all 1st gens can delete the stock ECU.

    I do like that...

Im not overly concerned about stock trans control mostly because there is an aftermarket controller for the a340e. That and I kinda wanna go with a 4l60e. I figure if it could survive in a 3200lb corvette it could survive in a 3200lb truck.

It just cost so much to build a a340 or even to manual swap it to something that can hold power.

Good to know the stock ecu is removed completely however. Does the Haltech natively control the dash?

I mean it's nice to control the engine and trans in one computer because they can work in tandem then (ign cuts for shift, throttle blips for shifts, etc). If you keep the A340 or use a 4L60 (why tho really it is weaker than a A340) then either one can be controlled with the Haltech natively with just a bit of wiring and tuning. The dash is a dumb device, the tacho gets its signal from the igniter under the hood, but you also could drive it directy from the haltech if you wanted either work. The speedo can be fed into and out of the haltech if you want to but it comes directly from the sending unit by default so changing ecu doesn't make a difference. Basically nothing on the dash is ever intercepted by the ECU except for the gear indicator lights and the check engine light (I wired the haltech CEL output to the dash in my patch harness)

Ok thats some good info to know.

As far as a340 vs 4l60e goes I'll stick with the a340 till it blows up and decide whether or not I wanna rebuild it or replace it. Controlling it with the haltech would be nice though.

After having driven it for a couple hundred miles it hasn't scraped anywhere except for rolling in and out of the shop. I think I wanna raise the rear like 15-20mm and lower the front like 20-25mm.

Honestly I absolutely love the way the rear sits but I don't think I can manipulate the fenders enough to clear. At least not with the tools I have (a hammer).

If you were closer I'd let you borrow my fender roller, maybe see if someone local on FB has one you can use?

I've contemplated purchasing a fender roller for a while. To roll the fenders on the Bimmer. One day perhaps. To fit some wider meats.

I'd buy one and only ever use it on this car probably. I cant imagine the truck is ever going to tuck a tire. Borrowing one seems like the move

Not enough IO on a 750 for trans control, need a 2000, 2500, or ideally an R3 (since you don't need a relay harness with its high current ouputs to drive the solenoids in the trans)

    Couple updates for this thread.
    >while sitting the Tacoma blew both headgaskets
    >literally wasn't running
    >the Camry is slow but looks a little cooler

Here's some pictures of the daily. Camry got a mr2 header adapted to v-band and made to fit the 5S-FE's position in the xv chassis. Also got a 2.25" exhaust from the header back and both cats deleted (some how hasn't thrown a code). Also installed whiteline sway bars front and rear. Most recently I picked up and refinished some old Ford alloys that I think give a period correct vibe. Very very tempted to go for coilovers now...

Those headlights made me think that too. This makes me want a Camry too - what's getting for mileage?
