That green Celica reminds me of a dude that rolled his red one into a ditch. Good times!

Thank you for sharing this info.
It has answered questions I have had.

That building must have been huge!

Trippy to think that Toyota was designed after a Chevy, what the hell happened to Chevy ? greed?
I wonder how the old folks meaning the old times first pioneers of the automobile manufacturers would feel about how they do things today?

    Agreed!

Since I have never found myself in Japan and the closest person I know out there is in okinawa, I will enjoy the photos, and live vicariously through you!

I was fortunate to visit the factory line, sadly no pictures allowed.
I didn't get to see any exotic cars on the production line mostly sedans I bet the LFA and NSX was cool to watch.

NSX was the coolest factory I have been to (this includes the Ferrari factory), till I saw the LFA . WOW. Best experience of my life.

Great thread. I have always admired the Toyoda family and the way that their family always stayed active in the Toyota operations.

This is another reason that I buy their products ... family involvement in the business as it continues.

I am guessing that BMW (Flatten & Quandt) is probably the closest to Toyota in family involvement in automobile industry.

IMO, Toyota is still tops ... because of the Asian thinking (thinking many years in advance, especially with R&D).

Those people are probably rolling over in their graves looking at the mistakes the auto industry has come about.
With new technology auto engineers/designers have to overcome challenges that no one has done before mechanically and design. We also have a very different breed of people compared to before, back in the old days they learned hands on while today's world they learn and design through a computer.

    Dang!
You did the Ferrari tour? The legit one inside the factory?
I went to Ferrari in Maranello but I did a 40 min. bus tour which didn't go inside the factory.
I was told I need a valid Ferrari VIN number that I own or someone in the family does in order to go in.

Sadly about 2 weeks ago I was at the BMW museum in Germany, purchased tickets for the BMW factory tour and missed it by 5 minutes (very dumb mistake).

I don't know what part of Japan you visit but there are beautiful Japanese women everywhere I went to.

Not too long ago I read that their birth rate is declining, they're beginning to be not interested in starting a family.

Yes, if you have a VIN or a car on order, you can do the whole tour.

Lived in Tokyo 3 years. No curves, straight 10 year old boy bodies. But Japanese women love to marry outsiders.

I agree with you, no curves.

That's funny, I visited the Porsche museum about 3 weeks ago as well as Mercedes and BMW.
Historically speaking I feel the Toyota museum has a deeper and more personal story than all others I've visited.
Also the Toyota museum is situated on the first and original Toyota factory.

    Thanks for sharing = ]

No because we have discipline and they know they have too many people there and in this world!

How many are on that little island any way?

Well I'm telling you from personal experience by talking to the people in Japan that this generation thinks a little different.
The male japanese are giving priority to their Anime and video games.
Seriously, they would rather buy more games and DVD's than take a nice girl out to dinner.
The girls on the other hand, the ones I talk to at least the educated ones with good jobs would rather spend their money going out and buying stuff.
Japan has had a population problem for generations but that's not why the locals are declining to start a family.

This info is on TV as well as personal experience talking to the locals.
