... has anybody replaced the bulbs to give you a brighter brake light? If so, what bulb did you use? Same goes for the 3rd brake light on the cab ... has anybody replaced this bulb with a brighter one?

The standard bulbs on the brake lights (not the HMSL) are 3/32cp, and there are other bulbs available. Can't remember the part numbers right now, but I have a GE engineering guide somewhere, but I know that there are also 2/32, 3/37, and some 3/40cp's that I used once. CP stands for candlepower, and the first number is the dim filament and the second is the bright filament for dual filament bulbs. Some makes use watts instead of cp; and a 27 watt bulb is 32cp. Most HMSL's (3rd stoplight) are bad about melting if higher spec'd bulbs are used. There is at least 1 or 2 bulbs in the peanut bulb size (194, 193, 161, 168,) that is brighter, and there are some brighter halogen bulbs that can have the tabs/wire out the bottom of the bulb modded to fit, but keep in mind these lamps have very little space compared to a marker/tail lamp and many melt/damage the lens/housing with the factory specified bulbs.

Thanks for the response. I was hoping that somebody has found an LED replacement that offers higher cp without creating heat issues.

Well really that is the regular light when i apply the brakes it get's even brighter , the pictures is with the low lights on only. I bought it at advanced auto parts , they are 2 mesurements one of 60" and for the tacoma i think it's 58". Any thing just let me know. Where i live we rule by usa traffic laws too and at least it's legal, remember when your truck is lifted the 3 light is this one.
