Bringing Better Bed Lights to the 3rd Gen

I did it for sound deadening. All goes back into place fairly easily.
I'd think that for this mod you'd only have to move the back half, which would just be a few panel clips and the two coat hangers.

Is it a pain? Kinda. But if I can do it, a monkey can

 

Is there a write-up anywhere for how to drop the back part of the headliner to access the third brake light (CHMSL) bulbs? Not sure I want to just go yanking on the headliner without knowing what I am doing and where to safely pull on it...

 

Count me in. I have 2017 double cab.

 

There is a write up somewhere. Although I'm not sure where on here it is anymore.

Basically remove the coat hangars from the back, remove their mounting tabs. Then remove the two 10mm bolts above the rear seat belts (that'll free up the large plastic piece back there so you can move it). Then remove the rear "oh shit handles".

This may be enough to access the rear brake light. If not, you'll need to start removing pieces from the B pillar to get it to flex more

What's the estimated cost for a 3rd gen with lights, connectors, gasket all assembled?

I'm in for one.

I live just north of Boston so if you need a test-fit-truck I'd be willing to talk! (depending on where in CT you are...)

 

Thanks again for the interest. If we get the 20 people we need to cover development/machining costs we hope to have the price come in very similar to the 1st & 2nd Gen version ($200 + free shipping). This bracket will have to be larger so that might drive the cost up slightly but we will do everything we can to keep cost down. Adding you to the list brings us to the halfway point.
