Hoping someone can give me information on how to replace this. My antenna broke off and when it did it bent the threads. Now I can't put a new antenna on.

There is a good youtube video of this somewhere. Caution: It isn't a smooth/seamless process. I would definitely recommend the tap before you replace the base

It would look a bit hokey but I've seen something at hardware stores, not sure what it's called. Imagine a bolt but with a very long hex head, on top of the head is a threaded hole.

Or if you never remove it for a drive though car wash, jb weld the new one in.

I've replaced them before, kinda pain in the butt. I disconnected it from the back of the stereo, tied a string to it, unscrew it from the fender, pull it up and out. Tie the string you now have sticking out of the fender to the new antenna, pull it in from where the stereo is. Of course if it doesn't want to pull out, don't yank the crap out of it. Look under to see what's keeping it from pulling out. Ziptied, caught on something, something in the way... Plug it into the stereo, screw it onto the fender.

    All stock, baby!
There's a good walkthrough of the antenna assembly replacement process in this thread. Doesn't look particularly fun.

I'd try to tap it and then put in a stubby.

Same thing happened to mine. I took bolt cutters and cut the treads off the antenna and just stuck it in the hole lol. Still works and hasn’t fell off yet.

I think as long as you don’t get airborne, it’ll work.
