Broken Coil Bucket Tower

    Also, the forces to break this aren't normal, but you still have forces working against the coil bucket all the time. Shocks are just there to dampen the force, so unless you valving is on point like a trophy truck and your body doesn't move regardless of what bumps you go over, bump forces are traveling in to that coil bucket alot of the time.

    And as a the moral of the story folks, this unfortunate event just goes to show that you should always inspect your vehicle often. Especially if you are going off the pavement.

    if rubber bump stops are not assisting the bottom out, then the spring hanger mount is recieving the full point load of unsprung weight Plus any " moment " stress ( mass plus velocity ) the point load could be quite significant.
    There is a reason for bump stops and the stopping point needs to be BEFORE the spring fully loads beyond its capability to compress given the vehicle weight ( which could be well before the springs fully compressed length
    Unsprung weight + G force + impact velocity force = major damage

    The cost to repair this seems very expensive then it could be just a regional labor market keeping the prices high.

    Then there could be more damage the pictures don`t show.

    Seems my last SAS swap a few years ago my price was about 1/2 still making a good profit but costs do rise

    Just about every truck ever sold the last owner just used it to haul their cats to the Vet and recycle the cat litter !!

    Engage Offroad long travel front and rear with some fat tires.
    exact same thing happened to me when i was mid travel... hucked the truck so much in the desert the coil bucket eventually cracked... had a gusset made and welded the bucket back together and then welded the gusset which looked like an oversized washer on top of the coil bucket...

    If the rest of the frame is equally as rusty as that coilbucket, I'd say you're SOL in fixing that.

    If you want to save it, I would be on the search for a used frame.
