Someone broke out my drivers side rear door window in my Tacoma (quad cab) but left everything inside. My ins. deduct is $500.00. Anyone know how much it costs to get a replacement window and to install it, or, is there a DIY?

Will put up photos later, it's kind of dark out side.

    I hope it doesn't snow.

Dang Will....sorry to hear about your window. Same thing happened to me a couple years ago on my Jetta. Some punk kids shot out my drivers side window with a BB gun!!! The police caught the bastards though!

The same thing happened to me a couple years back. Passenger side window completely blown out but nothing stolen. I just took it to a car window replacement place and they took care of it. I don't remember how much it was but I don't think it was over 200.

I used to work for a glass company several years back. If you can get a window from a salvage yard and catch a safelite autoglass or one of the local glass guys driving around i'm sure he would install it on the side either after work or on the weekend.
most of my big jobs were doing govt work on the side. Back in 91-97 I would hit you up for $50 maybe to install a sideglass. Not sure what a guy would charge nowadays. Still beats payin $500 deductable.

if you have full coverage there is no deductible on glass most of the time.

Na, it was someone that drove up, got out, broke it, jumped in a vehicle and sped off. I don't know who did it, but I know who sent the person to do it. My truck wasn't the target, just the closest thing. It'll be taken care of.

Safelite quotes 200$ to replace it. I'll have the windows all tinted, too. I really hate cleaning up glass. My entire door is wrapped in a tarp to safeguard me from snow and rain. I'll take photos and post them when I get to work. Agh, 4 hours of sleep, I'm tired.

    Thanks for the support guys.

This one was a few days ago. Tail gate and tail light is new.

Before that, it was lug bolts rusting on, having to drill them out.
