Didn’t like what I had. Pulled it outside and got a good look at it.
Changing it up a bit. Still going to add an upper bar, but want to slope it a bit more.

Needs more bracing, but you get the idea of where this this going.

It's like a street legal and less expensive sxs. Why do people spend $25k on those things when you could have a truck like this? Safer, faster, tow capacity - the list goes on and on

It’s hard to beat a SXS for jumping and going fast off road. They are pretty dang fun and soak up some hard hits.

For actual rock crawling I prefer a rig like this, but each thing has its place.

Yeah I guess for jumping that sounds right. That doesn't even cross my mind though considering I'm in the southeast

What gets me is how do people have the money to race a rock bouncer and a SXS in the SRRS.
That’s at least 100k combined for both rigs not counting trailers and tow rigs. I’ll stick my lowly tacoma. lol

It's all about the monthly payment to some people. Those are likely the "richest" poor people in America - $50k millionaires

I bent 2 different pulleys trying to remove them haha. Ended up going with a 6 rib pulley.

It came off pretty smoothly except for dropping the pulley right after I got it off. lol Just bent the outer lip. Got it back where it should be.
Yeah man. I assume you go to Harlan a good bit being in KY? One of my favorite places to wheel. Should be up there this summer some.

Harlan, windrock, aop are the main 3 I go to. Not sure how much I'll get out this year after my trip to moab but I'd like to make a few trips.

More than that put this into perspective here for pricing, both the Bad Influence and Gold Rush Buggies were over 200k. Timmy Cameron's new Menace Buggy what he spent was over 100k, since he didn't have a shop build it for him. Some of the other guys to catch up to the front runners from last year tore down and spent close to 100k ea. to get up to the winners level. Now you get an old bouncer that just has it's shit together and needs some fine tuning like Bubba Bacon has you can keep running that for years. Hell TC could run his buggies for years and a lot still are running. But it ain't cheap 500+ per tire unless you got sponsors, etc. Buggies can easily eclipse your 100g mark.

I can't wait for our CO/MOAB trip this summer. But we've got a lot of other wheelin' trips planned as well.

You’re probably right. Maybe one day I’ll be in a big $ rig.
I’ve got a goat built chassis sitting on a pallet I need to put together after I get this thing finished up. Have all my big parts for it, but will still probably spend another 7k to finish... and that’s doing it all myself.

The LJ chassis??? Goat built stuff is pretty good. But if you want a bouncer chassis like that Busted Knuckle or Wide open design have that cornered.

Also I know where a new chassis is sitting in a corner needing a little motivation to finish it :anonymous:
