How about the 3M paint protection film for the hood? Mine came with it under the Vehicle Shield Package Plus option when I bought the truck. No complaints here, looks good.

Went and took some pics. The truck is dirty so it really stands out, but when it is clean you really have to look close to see it.

I just got done installing these inchannel vent visors by EGR. Cost was $49.95 and free shipping directly from EGR.

They don't stick out very far and are completely flush with the outside of the door.

Do you still have this available? Are the pieces pre-formed?

They salt like crazy here in WV and my hood has a couple sizeable chips, less the 2K on my 2010 reg cab.

Would really like to do the hood.

    thanks,

    Bill

I had the OEM rock chip guard (they do not deflect bugs) on a 2006. I thought it was great and worked perfect. I put on myself within one month of new. I think its about how it was installed. Mine never made it through the plastic tabs into the paint. I made sure the clips was tight on the tabs and did not flex or move around. If its wearing it moving. The only problem with it is it got some film on it that never came off.

Reviving an old thread, but here goes...

Truck came with the OEM hood deflector. Just removed it to find the terrible paint chips everyone else seems to be discovering.

Is there a way I can adress this myself...will touch-up pens be worth a shot or do I really need to make a trip to a dealer to see if I can get it fixed. Bought the truck used but it's "certified"...if that makes a difference...

Mine came with the OEM Toyota. I never took it off, but it seems to work well.

I've had a weathertech for several years. Had it on my 05 for about 2 and on my 11 since June. Mounts with screws to the underside of the hood in existing holes. No signs of rubbing on the 05 when I removed it.
