Got the tank Friday. Spent the day chasing parts and putting the water system together. I'll hook up the power tomorrow and test it for leaks.

Looks good! Like the inside water fill, no chance for someone tampering with your water supply.

I can smell the wood mgord. Did you use cedar or pine?

I placed the water fill inside mainly because I didn't want to try cutting a hole in the side of the camper and there wouldn't be any frame around it anyway, would've been through the Styrofoam, but the other advantage besides being tamper proof is I can see the tank level while filling it. I bought a Camco water tank filler with shutoff valve, a must for the inside filler and for the travel trailer no more scurrying back to the house faucet when the trailer tank over flows.

I used mainly pressure treated but am converting to redwood. I tried cedar but the wood is to soft. The cubbies are out of sugar maple. I wanted to use pressure treated since I've had an RV that rotted with regular wood and didn't want to worry about rot. There is warping I had to take into consideration but all in all it worked out well. If I had to do it over with more money I would have used all redwood.

Not going to run plumbing since this is more of a rustic camper.

I take it out once a month with the Scouts and enjoy it immensely. Not sure if you have kids or such but join Boy Scouts if you have a boy and camp with them. They love it. Would get you out more often as well :)

What are you going to use for heat?

I'd like to find a small forced air (runs off of a 12v connnection) propane heater. I can install it under the bed or on the outside between the bed and the camper.

I don't plan to have a furnace, haven't seen one small enough and no room for the Atwood and a propane tank. If I'm going to camp in sub freezing temps I'll winterize the water system. You've got to make sure the furnace exhaust goes straight out the side or you risk carbon monoxide poisoning. Some people use catalytic heaters.

I have used a little buddy heater with our enclosed trailer/RTT set up. I only use it to take chill off before bed and in the morning. Not comfortable with leaving it on while we sleep. I also have -10 degree bag.

Yeah I have a buddy heater. You can see it a few post above on the far left side. I like it but like you I don't leave it on at night. I have a 0 degree bag. Would like a heater that cycles on and off and is fairly silent. I'm thinking an RV heater but like Goober said it needs to vent directly outside.

I'm often camping above 7000 ft. which is the maximum elevation for the Little Buddy heater.

You did a good job, cool project.

If you don't mind me asking, about what do you have in it, cost wise?

I just passed the 4k mark with the water system purchase. The sheet metal was the biggest expense at $900. I have an excel spread sheet attachment on post #182 for the first 3k and the last 1k was the solar system, camper steps, water system, roof paint and other misc stuff.
