    Hey guys
I am going to build a rear bumper for my taco out of tubing. I was going to put a spare tire mount as well as a jerry can mount on but I am not sure how to go about designing it exactly.

I have a bender and welder and anything else at my disposal so equipment shouldnt be a problem.

does anyone have ideas/pictures of any bumpers they have/have seen?

    designs would be much appreciated.

    thanks.

Here's the one I designed. Hybrid tube if you will. I modeled around Demello's 1st Gen bumper.

I like that. Looks good. Is that 2X4 tube or 2X5? What wall thickness? How much does it weigh? Nice welds.

Judging by the pic, you should think about making sliders next!;)

It's 2x4" beam. I can't remember the tube thickness, but I backed into a boulder this last weekend and just scratched the paint, no dents.
I ended up buying Stubbs sliders, since they have one tube welded inside the other.

lol, I'm not making them. This was just nice to be able to replace my damaged stock one.
Its higher clearance since the hitch is integrated, but it probably weighs about the same as the stock one.

hm i dont think im gonna integrate my hitch like you did johnecon, but i like that design a lot. I just bought a spindle for the spare tire mount to swing out so i can open the tailgate. I just need to design a jerry can mount as well.
