No problem. I'll talk to Jason and see what we can do.

what if you fabbed up a CV that used a U joint, and could then used very strong CVs that would not break at higher angles

I bet mad people would buy stronger CVs if they were available, That being the biggest weakpoint of IFS

No. The cv axles are not the same as the double cardan joint in the drive shaft. The only way to get more travel from the from axles on an IFS would be to get longer shafts and go with a long travel set up. Good question though!:D

The reason a cv joint or more properly named a consant vilocity joint was made was because a ujoint could not take the abuse a front wheel drive set up put to them and the inherent vibration that comes with ujoints. See, when you have an independent suspension system that is also required to rotate the wheels and turn them from one direction to another, a ujont would bind in that system. The solid front axle is the pivoting point where in an IFS system the cv's are the pivoting point. All th ujoint has to do in a solid axle is rotate the tire and turn left to right.

I went with the "call up Jesse" option. :) Just got off the phone with him and I'm shipping him my driveshaft in a couple weeks. I'm going with his "trophy truck 1350 shaft" setup with the heavy duty carrier bearing.

I'm already drooling over the thought of this and I haven't even pulled my gear from my truck yet! :D

    Great referral!

Maybe you should just outsource your whole build to Wyatt and his crew. At least your truck would run! :D :D :D :D :D

    Wyatt,

If you decide to get a group buy together. You have a place in the Vendors area.

At this point nothing can help that. :p

He was really down to earth on the phone and just based on his demeanor I can tell he's confident in his abilities. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the final product.

Wow this thread brings back memories of the early days of that truck. Many late nights and weekends in that thing. I don't think you could ever put a price on it. If you have any questions, I'm here now.
