    While i'm gathering parts for my rear three link swap I decided to start to gather stuff for my 4.7 engine swap as well.

    I needed a bell housing from a 4.7 motor and found one. It showed up at my house on the front of a 4Runner tranny that was going into a V6 4runner so they didn't need the bell housing. It's mine now. [​IMG]

    Found a motor as well but need to make sure it's the correct year and I need the gas pedal and engine wiring harness as well as the engine ecu.

    To do the 5.7 swap I woould have to change my entire drive traine including the transmission, transfer case and I would have to figure out an adapter for the crawl box which would probably cost me $10,000 in R&D work.

    I can get just as much power from the 4.7 as I could from the 5.7 by just doing some simple computer work and bottom end work. Plus the 4.7 just bolts right up and there is almost no wiring splicing needed. I can add a super charger and have more power and torque than the 5.7 hasand all for less than I would pay for a 5.7 with tranny and transfer case with all the computers and such.

    I know you can't beat the rumble of a v8 but if you want more power why not milk it out of the 1gr with a supercharger and some other things from superwerty's mod list? Don't get me wrong, I really want to see this done I'm just curious what your reason is, knowing you you've considered it and ruled it out for some logical reason.

    Yes, I've thought and re-thought this swap. The v6 motor wont give me the low end torque I want or need for crawling with a truck of this size. The super charger won't give me the power I need down low until it's wound up and I need it right off of idle, plus the 4.7 will get better milage than a super charged v6 will with more useable power where and when I need it at about the same price.
